  1. The nipples for those wheels shipped with so much thread lock on them that galling likely wouldn't occur nipple to rim, al least during the building phase. But in use the rims flex so much that the nipple to rim interface would eventually displace the thread lock and replace it with Al oxide from both parts and that would gall. The nipples were also fragile so they're super easy to distort and then they're never coming out
  2. Yea, owned by a subsidiary of Giant. Expect to see them back on Giant Bicycles in2026 and aftermarket to follow. I've had a stages for 8 years and it’s been reliable and correlates with my tacx Neo and P2M NG eco on my Mtb. I must be the only one satisfied with Stages
  3. Wel yes but that might make it harder to remove the nipples if destroying the rim is an option then perhaps cutting it up midway between spokes and then soaking the rim /nipple /spoke interface in new engine oil for a few days. Then clamp in a vice and apply the spoke wrench and hope for the best I just figured that applying a lot of penetrating oil and the. Riding the wheel might work the oil into the nipples and this will allow the nipples to be removed
  4. Galvanic corrosion only happens between dissimilar materials. min your case the spoke heads have galled in the nipples. The best thing you can try is get as much penetrating oil into the nipples and let them soak. Wet everything where the spoke enters the nippple and the nipple threads into the rim. the rear wheel was always the problem with the R-Sys wheels due to it carrying the drive torque loads and more of the rider weight. good luck
  5. Aaaah I see we’re back to the 2024 debate on whether people should go to worlds or not? if they qualified , let them go. If they didn’t, then they didn’t and they don’t go. Simple as that. positive influence , negative influence…? It’s my job to raise my kids. I can’t even use an fbomb in traffic without the dreaded swearing penalty jar being placed under my nose…. raise them right and fbombers aren’t a problem
  6. Street value? for SARS purposes of course
  7. Argh no man second one. Danie Nel met a similar fate last week 😢
  8. What happened to Eugene!!???
  9. @Cdeare2 Of the two choices I’d say scalpel is better suited to SA riding conditions with 120mm of travel front and back. The lefty is also the best performing XC fork, while the Scalpel gems is both laterally stiff while also having a very good pedalling platform . It uses a standard 190x45 rear shock so a replacement is easy to source
  10. He said at the beginning of the year his focus is road and MTB XCO world champs… Youse of little belief and short memory 🤣 but wait he mos tapped off the gas in the XCC because he was only there for the beer and nuh
  11. Sheeple. there are better tyres
  12. 2x World Champ!!!👏🏼👏🏼 the 🍻are well deserved ( in this discipline)
  13. Both Alan and Luke backed off on the last lap
  14. XCC course was fast and tight. If you’re weren’t top 10 off the line you were going to have a hard day. Last lap both Alan and Luke backed off the gas as they had no chance yet only 3 and 7 devs off the lead at that time
  15. Poorly suited to Western Cape trail conditions. Ideal for the road section of a ride but that’s about it.
  16. Pirelli scorpion XC Sport. its single compound rubber delivers good balance between grip and rolling resistance for around R800 a tyre. I’ve used them as training tyres in the offseason and they deliver great performance when ridden on tar. The loss of performance is gradual but allows good use of the tyre unlike triple compound tyres which cost a lot more . if you want to pay more the Pirelli scorpion XC RC prowall is an excellent race tyre
  17. Yebo Candice up at 17:00 and Luke and Alan at 18:00
  18. Leon Pieter’s at Black Composites in Ndabeni/Pinelands
