  2. Mtb uses a 104 BCD. i think there was a5 bolt 110bcd 32t chainring available a few years back but I can’t remember if it was wolftooth or absolute crap that manufactured it. It was very unsuccessful. The 2x sub compact cranks use a 110bcd for the big outer chainring and either a 96mm or 74mm bcd for the inner chain ring that can then be sized down to a 26t. sram may have a 32 but on a 107mm BCD. That’s just enough clearance for the chain ring bolt to not snag the chain but inconvenient enough to not be adopted by other manufacturers. You see good ideas are not adopted by the bike industry. They would rather have a million different standards for the same thing so you can mortgage the house for a chainring . i found these on ebay. you can see there isn't a heck of a lot of material around the mounting bolt for a 30T and 32T on 110mm BCD https://www.ebay.com/itm/123706511747 they 5 bolt and 4 bolt mount. Firstly the handlebars will hit the ground long before the seat stays, then likely the pedals and derailleur. But please keep your inventive story telling coming because I'm a little bored and suffering a bit of writers block with a failure report I'm writing up . If what you say is true then all it serves is to reinforce the notion of very very low quality bicycle products being sold into the market at premium prices because a long column secured at two ends should cope with a lot more bending strain then any scenario being suggested. Take a carbon rod from a high performance stunt kit and see how far you can bend it before it breaks. PS: Wear safety goggles, hard hat and gloves
  11. it appears that there is a culture of acceptance of poor quality products. Must be a Millenial thing. If a bike cracks by falling over at a coffee stop then I want a new one, not a crash replacement. If the frame fails bending in a place its designed to bend then that fail is due to either exceeding the strain or poor layup. A bike that has travelled in a bike bag, assembled and ridden for a few hundred kilometers before failing then its a layup fault which is a straight warranty claim. Bad luck for sure but its a warranty not a crash replacement.

  17. I binned the supplied uswe nozzle for a camelbak bite valve. The uswe unit leaked. The bladder and nozzle in the Ryder pack is as a generic, similar to uswe, first ascent and a few others

  19. yes strip Pogacar out of the equation and he's probably the next best all rounder, no argument there. My only contention is that the press wrote Pogacar off after his poor TT and basically placed the stripes on Remco without considering that they likely had very different focus in terms of prep and focus

  21. if you have SRAM AXS maybe fit a drop bar and drop bar brake levers. This will give you better aero for the flats. His gravel bike is going to need some gearing adjustments anyway as the fangs and clig to bergplaas just isn't going to be rideable without a 0.7 ratio gearing for a 14to15hr finishtime
  22. well I say "probably" because there are nuances to a career that is still quite young. If Remco wants to win the TdF he would have to drop a bit of weight? This may then slow his TT down. Does he then live out the accoloade of greatest TT rider ever? I don't deny he is a great time trialist but the best ever is a bit of a stretch for now. His road racing execution needs work despite winning the Olympics Road Race last year so the media promotion of he suddenly being the favourite for the Kigali Road Race was more than a bit premature

  24. He is probably a better but definitely a more consistent TT performer than Pogacar. Since 2021 they've met head to head 11 times in UCI TT events with Evenepoel having a 9:2 strike rate. The winning margins were never as big as 3,8 seconds per kilometer as it was for the TT in Kigali last week. So that was an outlier which suggests it should never have been an indicator of relative form

This from a group that included Pidcock, Evenepoel, skuilmose, Healy and del Toro. it was clear in the TT that either Pogi was carrying race prep fatigue or wasn’t interested in winning it, instead saving his legs for the Road race. There’s just so much desperation within the Belgian camp for Remco to win something big. The Olympic Road Race is already long forgotten.
