  1. Basis your build is say that saddle is too narrow for you anyways. At 172cm and wearing a 28-30 inch jean pant (non skinny) I are riding a 137mm to 145mm saddle. Aee my post above, I think it’s poor quality lycra
  2. Your fit on the bike looks fine. Nothing glaringly obvious other than the fact you’re leaning against a wall and you’re static. It’s best to get a fit baseline while pedalling the bike for at least 5-10min to let you settle into your normal riding position. post pics of the saddle too please. PS: I’ve worn out a few popular brand SA brand bibs recently and these were quite new( not impressed) so it might also be a case of poor quality Lycra and the shorts simply wearing through due movement against the saddle which cannot be avoided unless you’re a downhiller
  3. I do t think k that was his point but ya no well, both right and both wrong. More on that later . I’m just trying to catch up here…. I learned to ride a bicycle when the only people who owned a bakkie was either a plumber, a builder or a farmer. To buy one you needed to go to the commercial vehicles section of the auto dealership. Now anyone can get one especially those who don’t need it other than to take up two parking bays at the beachfront while they hog the waves on the long long boards or mtb trails. along with prosperity comes a healthy dose of phuquism…. so biggger cars in the same roads has created a space problem. More cars due to a population 4x bigger than it was 30 years ago is another part of the problem. Agreed, there plenty of space to pass. The cyclists are not the issue. Driving attitude is the big problem . Motorists believe they have more economic right to the roads than anyone else. Agreed, motonormativity is a global problem driven by high taxation. End user pays, end user believes they have more right. It’s flawed logic but humans are largely stupid creatures driven by simple impulses. eg neighbour buys 4tjunher, then “I” must buy a metallic coloured one. Can’t be viewed to be earning less than that box can “l”..?! cyclist?! “Nah humbug damn freeloader having fun and the wife’s having a good look at the legs and ass too , let’s just squash the bug like that nerd we locked in his locker back in matric …Jean that’ll teach him to Get all flashy with those legs.” your average motorist has the EQ of a 5year old, the computing power of a Commodore 64 , the awareness of a blind and deaf sloth and about as much accountability as an ANC minister whilst also filling said ministers cookie jar everytime they fill up. You’d think that this alone would incentivise people to be more independent in their transport choices but sadly …..no…… Well of course, how dare you be infront of a motorist. What gives you the right to fill their field of vision with ass and leg from a chippnedales skit. ?!? Huh what’s wrong you cretins man how dare you make the driver feel non hetero desires, you you you cyclists are the root of all evil, bloody moving pornhub bill boards in your tight Lycra and see through white tops…..and on a Sunday …..die skandaaaal!! Yeah you need to diet bro.120gr /hr CHOnis race day only man Are you ? Happy and content…? Well I guess if stalking Lycra clad blokes while having chippendale fantasies is your thing then I guess you might be. I have my doubts bru.. it’s women’s month … is there something you want to share? This is a safe space, it’s Monday.
  4. Aaaand the reach on Scott’s tends to be longer
  5. O such thing as far as I know. Just replace once every two years or use a decent Allen key set where the fit is tight
  6. If you break those cheap Brittle self extractors off in the extraction /retention bolt you’re in a world of trouble to get it out
  7. Try an oversize torx driver first, this will drive the corners of the bolt. If not, drill the thing out since it’s aluminium and buy a new one. They’re relatively cheap……relatively
  8. No one has said 32ers can’t exist. Just supporting the uci banning them from their sanctioned events. That’s not too hard to hard to understand
  9. 🚴🏾‍♀️ yes the UCI is going to allow bigger wheels in road racing while also trying g to slow the racing down to make it safer. Ox wagon wheels are the answer yes yes yes I can see it now
  10. Stoke suspension omnico pty ltd robbies bicycle concept Lance Stephenson at daisy way coaching also services Lefty ocho
  11. The tab is there to act as a last resort safety to prevent the crank arm coming off of the bolts come undone and the end cap tension adjuster has also fallen out. It has no influence on spacing anything
  12. A UCI ban doesn’t stop a manufacture from making a 32er. You just can’t use it in any uci sanctioned event.i would hate to be forced to have to buy a new bike in order to compete because in SA distributors will hop on the 32 gravy train for all the 50 something pros who can afford them. The rest will be playing Padel. since y’all hate the UCI anyways, its doesn’t affect you. For the rest , #bantheshhytebeforeitrakeshold
  13. I rebuilt my 27,5er for my daughter and took it for a spin. A full kg lighter than my 29er and a hell of a lot of fun. Was thinking of claiming it but she wheels it into her room while giving me the side eye and “I’m watching you” hand signals…..
  14. What David said
  15. Road and gravel tyres are sized in metric because of road /cx origins mtb tyres sized in inches because USA origin build a hardtail with drop bars and a suspension fork
  16. Dit is n Mooi fiets!!
  17. Commentary is diabolical though but grateful we can watch the whole thing live
  18. Leadville 100miler doing a good job of killing CX based gravel bikes. All the top riders are on drop bar equipped mtbs. and once again , peace prevails on the prairie
  19. A cycling pal of mine 😥
  20. The star ratchet can slip if it hasn’t been serviced regularly. Could be grease thickening up or dirt preventing full engagement or wear on the edge of the teeth. Do you have the 18,36 or 54 tooth ratchet?
  21. didn't think of that did you...??🤣
  22. A few thoughts: Its worth checking the serial number with Cape Cycle Systems as they keep good records of bad batches of GX cassettes. Rear but there has been a few. Have you checked to ensure it's not your freehub that is slipping under the load in that gear? Smaller sprockets require you to apply more force to get going Have you checked the cassette for a bent tooth. If there is a bent tooth its easy to remedy but CCS will warranty the cassette if it's this fault How many km's on the current GX cassette?
  23. thank you, you just proved my point but by loving the sound of your own voice. The Sniper has been around in its current guise since 2017. Thats an 8 year lifecycle. They are always discounted. Boutique brands don't push product through mass wholesale to public. Yes it worked for them financially but t was their post covid rescue plan. They've been in trouble for some time.
