  1. Shova charged only R65 and you could include up to 5 numbers for the same price. I think that is a bargain.
  2. Good luck! Time's ticking. Ready for the big ride?
  3. You haven't cleaned your bike in SIX MONTHS? Do you take a bath often?
  4. Isn't 30mm a bit much to fix with shims?
  5. Bike shop did the setup when bike was purchased. Cape Town's a little far to visit for set up. We are in Bloem.
  6. Didn't know if he would like cycling so he purchased some cheap olympic mountainbike shoes. I do not know about the pedals. Do not want to change before we know how to fix the problem. Then he will buy a decent pair of shoes.
  7. My husband was in a motorbike accident a few years back. This left him with his right leg 30mm shorter than the left. He started cycling earlier this year. Due to his bike setup being done on the shorter leg the left leg bends more than it should when pedaling. The people that build up his shoes cannot build up cycling shoes. I do not want him to hurt the other leg as it already has problems with the ligaments in the knee. ANY IDEAS?
  8. What kind of brace are you using? My husband has got problems with ligaments in the back of his one knee and we are currently looking for some kind of knee brace to support his knee.
  9. I only do 10km one way. I take any detour possible to strech this a bit. 30km would be a nice ride.
  10. I am bankrupt after the August/September cycling expenses. 3 x Argus entries R 1000 including a chip for my daugher (her first Argus) 3 x Amashova entries plus accomodation R 2500 fuel excluded 3 x OFM Classic entries R 600 luckily no fuel or accomodation needed. 2 x Youth race entries plus accomodation R 2000 This excludes my daugters' training fees and our gymn membership. - Total R960 pm Suddenly your R2355 pa sounds like something I would not mind paying.
  11. What about cycling to Bloem to join us for the cycle to the Cape? O I forgot you are way out of our league!
  12. Now its downhill all the way back!
  13. I started commuting from work this week. Its heaven on earth. We do not have showers at work so I cannot ride to work. So I bum a lift in the morning and I have a super ride home in the afternoon. Only 10km. But in Bloem there aint many places more than 10k's from the other. I go out of my way to create a detour just to stretch my ride a little.
  14. Come on is there no one out there that can help? I'm not on any fancy workout plan. But this is what I do. I do 30 - 60 min hills once a week. 40-60 km's once. One high cadence workout. Try to attend 2 x 45 min spinning classes. On Sundays we have a groupride of 80-100. And on Fridays I REST. Would also like to hear what the better riders do for training.
  15. In Bloem there aren't any proper hills, only what you can maybe call "small bumps" (and I even suffer on these) what should I do to train for races with decent uphills?
  16. R75 for ROAG two races and its paid. Usually R35 daylicence. Dont have to join a club. Cheaper and easier.
  17. Hi, I'm a roadie in desperate need for a new helmet. But what should I buy. I don't have millions to spend but as it is something that should keep me safe I do not want to buy trash. What's hot and what's not?
  18. And still..... the plot thickens. Don't those bikes burn your hands when touching them Nielsie?
  19. What does a cycling coach cost? My daughter is 12 and cycles with me but we would like to get her a coach. (as long as it doesnt cost more than her bike.
  20. Serenitas in Bloemfontein.
  21. My daily job is to raise money for the elderly. I work at a Retirement Village. TRaining and planning is well underway. What energydrinks do you suggest?
