For all those planning on IMSA 2020 will notice that there is no date announced yet. It is always announced at the awards ceremony however not this time. If you wondering what the reason is, its because there has been a fall out with the municipality and our stupid anc coalition mayor who insists the event goes out for tender ??? Talk around town here is that the chances are high that 2019 might have been the last IM held here. They had to even payout SMME business a hefty amount to stop them from blocking the race this last weekend as they had threatened to do. IM Europe who we fall under and IMSA have had enough of there demands and sh!t. However negotiations are continuing and lets hope that sanity will prevail.

Prepare your self for a tough day. Tail wind out but who ever said you protected through town from the easterly is spinning stories. You have most of the climbs with a head wind including heartbreak from there through town is down hill but the wind is directly in your face you will have to work all the way. From there around the beach front its still a head wind and only ounce you pass Pine Lodge does the tail wind start again. The easterly builds through the day so don't over cook the 1st lap. Lets hope it backs off a bit on Sunday.

Well done Shaper, I must add that I was the last wave 9h28. We definitely had the worst of the conditions but I suppose its the same for the whole age group. Being a local and have been able to ride that course a lot I found it extremely tough yesterday. Biked 5 minutes slower than I would have liked to even though I was pushing harder watts.

Here is just a warning to anybody planning to suck my wheel come Sunday...expect a big gush of juice from my bottle in your face, followed by some choice words. Why enter if you going to cheat?

Its just linked to my edge 520. Battery life is between 4 to 5 hours depending how busy it is. Busy roads seem to drain it.

Been riding with mine for sometime now, Its defiantly help and lets you know something is coming only depend on it. Still look behind you to be sure.

Update your software on 520 and varia via garmin connect. Will sort out all issues.

To be honest, I ride those roads and a substantial part of the route every weekend. Its the same as last year and the year before and so on. I don't have a problem with it, maybe a little bumpy but its fine. In my humble opinion I think they should spend the money on the poor and those who don't like a few bumps should toughen up. Its Africa after all. ;)

No change...there's no money and PE is divided on if it should be done or not. Lots of infighting going on. Also much of the bad parts falls under provincial which is falls under the ANC in Bhisho so there is no way in hell they will loan the DA anything.

Its PE, expect wind. Being a local as well, a little wind is better than no wind at all. Trust me.

No change to the road surface, exactly the same as last year. We just had the Herald cycle tour this past weekend and a lot of guys where riding tubbies. I didn't see many people with punctures. I ride the route a lot and there are a few places that you could pick up a puncture but otherwise its fine.

Out of all the IM events in SA, its the worst. The swim if there is one doesn't factor much for me but the bike is a complete draft fest and the run is spent dodging beach goers and other tourists that don't even know that there's an event on. So having said that,I wasn't going to do it but I had to pull out of the EL race after the bike due to a foot injury so am thinking of it now. Otherwise, who ever is doing the full, see you on the beach 2nd April.
