I would like to re-visit Dynasys If my RD has a little lever on it, that can be adjusted by moving it back and forward by hand, what does this do? Its on a XT 2/10 setup bike... Please educate me

Hi all I’m still riding with mechanical disk brakes, got a 160mm rear and 180mm front disk. This stops me pretty fine, I really can’t complain, I carry spare brake cable with, so if I run into a bit of bad luck I can fix it and be on my way. Now... I’m looking to upgrade to hydraulic, what type of problems can this give in the middle of nowhere? And can it be fixed on the trail? I’m not 100% clued up on the hydraulic brakes...
