  1. Thanks for the advice, never really clicked to combine both options. I have now purchased both new tyres. I did look at the Maxxis tires and was definitely my first choice, but I felt for the price of one Maxxis I was able to get two Pirelli tires, which seemed like a great deal to me. Thanks again!
  2. I am in the market for a new set of tires and found a great deal on the Pirelli Enduro range through Takealot. However, there are two options, they offer the Soft range and then the Medium/Mixed range at a bit of higher price. Both are well within budget, I am just unsure which would be best for Cape Town and it's surrounds terrain. Any advice would be appreciated! Enduro Soft : https://www.takealot.com/pirelli-scorpion-27-5-x-2-6-enduro-soft-terrain-cycling-tyre/PLID71579396 Enduro Mixed : https://www.takealot.com/pirelli-scorpion-27-5-x-2-6-enduro-mixed-terrain-cycling-tyre/PLID71579393 I ride mostly short burst enduro trails (10-25km) in and around Cape Town.
  3. Hello hubbers, My bike, Scott Genius 750 (2018), has the ability to switch between 27"+ and 29", and now I'm interested to do exactly that. The reason is mainly because my bike has quite a low BB, and I believe 29er will be able to just add a few needed centimeters. I just want to know if it's possible to trade my current 27"+ wheelsets for 29ers? I have the following: Rims: Syncros X-30s, 32 hole, 30mm Hubs: Front - Shimano HB-M6010-B CL, 15x110mm Rear - Shimano FH-M6010 CL, 12x148mm Tires: Maxxis Recon 2.8" I also have a Shimano CS-HG50-10 speed cassette, which I believe is not compatible with Sram XD hubs, but in the future I'd probably want to upgrade to Sram SX/NX and I don't know if XD hubs and Shimano cassetes are compatible for the time being? What can I expect to get for my wheelset aswell? Thanks in advance!
  4. Hello fellow bikehubbers. So awhile back I was extremely fortunate to win the Oakley x Ubuntu Bikes competition sponsored by The Lake Magazine. I was ecstatic, and still am. The bike is a beauty in it's own right. The only thing is the bike is made from a mixture of parts, and most likely more of a collector's item than a full-on fixie. I have ridden it more than a few times, but I am quite afraid to switch from freewheel to the fixed gear considering the parts and a chance of something breaking. I can only seem to find the name of three parts which is the crank and chainring both are Suntour SR and the hubs are Shimano. I would just want to know what I could get for this bike, because I am considering to buy a more purpose built fixie. TIA, Oscar The bike: http://www.ubuntubikes.com/lake-magazine-x-oakley-fixie-colloaboration/

  7. I have been looking to buy a BMX for a while now, however I am struggling to find a decent bike in South Africa. I know of BMX direct, but there are only a select few. Shipping from overseas is also an extra R3 000, minimum. Does anybody have any other suggestions, or know of anyone selling? Thanks in advance! Oscar.
  8. Hello everyone, I want to start riding dirt jumps, but I can't seem to find any stockists. Does anybody know of a stockist in South Africa? Few options I've looked at: Scott Voltage YZ 0.1 Specialized P.3 Canyon Stitched 360° (*) *Only available through shipping, but if someone has it for sale,I'd really like to buy it! Thanks a lot, Oscar
  9. Thanks a lot for the response. In my research I also found the Merida One Forty 800, which I think is an excellent bike, but unfortunately the only Merida, so if you have any feedback on that bike as well I would really appreciate it. But to answer you question I am looking for a bike in the mid R30k, maybe maximum R40, preferably 27.5' and no more than 140mm? If you have time in your day to recommend anything, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Oscar!
  10. Hello Kristen, thank you very much, it is an amazing bike, however unfortunately in this case I am looking for a Large frame. I am 181cm.
  11. Hello everybody, I am still on the hunt for a new bike, and in my previous post (by the way thanks for all the responses) I asked about the Skyrim Comp, but after considering financing I pushed my budget. So after a bit more research, I came across the SCOTT GENIUS 750 (2018), so I'd really appreciate any responses about the bike. Thank you! 12. Hello everyone, I am thinking about getting my "first" trial bike, and I need advice. I've been riding for a while and luckily I had the opportunity to borrow a very nice Cannondale as my first real bike. But as all good things come to an end I am now looking for my own first bike. I am still quite a novice when it comes to what I need and where to get it. But after a fair share of research on my part I have narrowed my search down to the Titan Skyrim Comp. I can not really find any reviews on the bike but all my local bike shops recommend it. So now I'm seeking anyone of you to help me find "the one". -140mm Boost 27.5 Plus Lightweight Hydroformed Aluminium-Rock Shox Recon 140mm Air Fork with Poploc and Thru Axle-Rock Shox Monarch Rear Shock-Sram NX 1×11 drivetrain-Sun Ringle Duroc 30 Rims-Shimano Hydraulic Brakes-Titan 100mm Dropper Post-760mm Wide Bar-Tubeless Ready Tyres https://www.titanracingbikes.com/product/titan-comp-140mm-plus-skyrim-trail-bike/
