  1. Hello everyone. So I'm wanting to get to get a motorbike licence and struggling to find anything online pertaining to: What do I need to know for the learner's test that is specific to a motorbike? Will the normal k53 book have it in there? When you you pass out your drivers test, what do they actually test on and does the test remain in the yard? Thank you
  2. Thanks fo this. I must say that some angles that show the path bending in a u-turn looks very weird. And you're right, the backpack one is odd. I like how wide the angle is of the lense, allowing it to capture the whole rider with the surroundings.
  3. Hi there Hubbers. Have any of you used a 360 camera doing mountain biking? I am looking at buying one, because I've have seen some nice videos of guys doing mtb and wondering how you manage to mount the camera away from their bike. Any other advice regarding these cameras you can give? Are they worth it to get those unusual videos? Thanks
  4. Hi Hubbers, Let me start with a story. I recently met someone while cycling on the mountain. We're friends now and have since gone on a few rides at Tokai, Cape Town. Four years ago he was knocked over by a bakkie with a bullbar while he was commuting from work home on a motorbike. It almost completely obliterated his right leg from the knee down. He almost lost his leg. He is currently 25 years old and is the nicest person you could ever meet and carries such positive energy with him. So my request is to find a 29er full suspension frame for him to replace his hardtail. He can transfer all components. He is more enduro, but anything would help. Even though he only started riding for over a year now, he lives for the sport , but unfortunately, he's hardtail is killing his leg, though he complains very little about it. A donation would be great, but we can consider paying something towards it as well. I hope this request does not come across as absurd. FYI he doesn't know I am posting this.
  5. Hi Hubbers. I've been mountain biking for a more than 20 years now and have never invested on a decent cycling shorts. I've been told to buy Ciovita bibs. Any advice on a cheaper, but good brand? Say max R1000. I see the Ciovita Corsa can be picked up for R1300 on sale. Thanks Edit: I bought a Ciovita Corsa at Chris Willemse for R1000. It was on special for R1300 (from R1900) and they gave a further discount of R300 so was a great deal. Road with on Saturday and Sunday and makes a big difference. I think I need to add more chamois cream to certain spots, but otherwise it's great not to have an unbearably painful bum. It is, however, an older model as someone has pointed out to me. Thank you for all the advice.
  6. I mean I’m not looking for cool, but the Gixxer is one awesome looking bike and at that price 😍
  7. Thank you. This does help a lot. I mountain bike, but doesn’t mean I’ll do dirt bike riding. I don’t see it as something that’ll interest me. I would likely use a motorcycle only for commuting three times a week and maybe pick up my daughter from school now and then. The reason I was thinking ebike, is because I see it having a dual purpose and I’ve always wanted an ebike. But reading the advice (very good advice from everyone), it sounds like the maintenance will kill me, so that’s definitely not going to work. Thank you again. I’ll have a look at those cheap options. I’m not looking for cool 😄
  8. thank you
  9. I can't find anything online on Eewiz. Is that the right spelling?
  10. I just googled the Zero bikes and it seems they no longer exist. Their facebook page hasn't been active for a few years now and their website is dead. I wonder what happened to them.
  11. I'd love an E Motorbike, but as far as I understand there's very little available in this country. The ones that are available are insanely expensive. Do you know something I don't?
  12. Thanks for the advice. For clarity, I have never riden a motorbike in my life and plan to get a licence. So it is a completely new experience for me. Sorry I should have made that clear in original post.
  13. Thanks. Those are great deals, but I think if I go for an ebike, I'd choose a dual, because I'd want to use it for the mountain on weekends doing enduro riding.
  14. I think it'll take me 2hrs to Pinelands on a bike (maybe even more), since the plan is to do the greenbelt. That would make me far too late. 1hr would be great. I was surprised you chose a bike over motorcycle in the rain. Is it because of the danger?
  15. That was my original plan, but it takes too long. I have to first do school in the mornings. Would've been great to keep fit. I am hoping an ebike would cut the commute down by at least half.
  16. Good morning Hubbers, With the rising petrol price, I'm starting to look at getting a motorcycle to commute to work. Looking at spending between R40k-R60k for secondhand one. Then I started thinking, perhaps this is an opportunity to get a secondhand Ebike instead and using that to commute to work. Then I'll have a something to play around with on weekends as well. My house (Tokai) is 22km away from work (Pinelands). Oh and I can shower at work. I would appreciate any advice on this subject. Am I being an idiot even comparing the two? Do any of you commute for that distance using an Ebike?
  17. Cool thanks. I actually work around the corner from that shop
  18. He’s in Pinelands Cape Town
  19. Hi. My nephew (grown man) wants to start mountain biking and only has a budget of R5k… maybe a little more. What would be the best option? Old 26er full suspension; new hardtail 26er or cheap brand 29er. In my experience, if he enjoys Mtb, he’ll probably look at upgrading 2-3 months down the line. I’ve been in the R20k plus budget for last few years, so don’t know where to start with R5k. Any advice?
  20. Thanks Matt. I will check it out
  21. HI Bikehub. I tried giving a fellow bikehubber a good review, but got a message saying I can only review users with whom I have engaged with on BikeHub. Makes sense, but I did engage with him and he bought my bike.
  22. yebo. It's still sitting in my profile
  23. Thanks Nick. It works, except ads that have expired. Still has the same problem on those
  24. I can select any of the options, but when I click Confirm, nothing happens. I have to use the X on top right to close window, but my ad is still there.
