  1. @440MTB might be able to tell you... He has some nice decals on his bike
  2. Beautiful fiery sunrise at Polkadraai this morning
  3. I have a Garmin Forerunner 235 (from 2018) with a dead battery. Couriered it in to Garmin for assessment end of Feb, and took 13 working days from delivery to assess. The verdict: "no replacement/service parts", and offered me a Forerunner 55 at discount. 30% discount (based on pricing on Garmin's site) or 17% discount compared to other sites.
  4. Bottellary Hills being shown off again this morning
  5. The dam on the bend on Old Polkadraai road
  6. Without a doubt, get a Garmin Varia as rear light. It is life-changing. I never go on a ride without mine since I got it. And Garmin is running lekker special on it at the moment... https://www.garmin.com/en-ZA/p/698001/pn/010-02375-00

  11. Ooh that looks nice! Thanks
  12. Thanks @capediver, but was referring to the Varia radar, not front light.
  13. Thanks for all the feedback everybody! It is very insightful. Another question - is there a way to attach a tether to the Varia?
  14. Good point. It is not a requirement, but like that drivers behind me will be able to see that I am slowing down.
  15. Hi peeps I'm looking into getting a radar rear light for my bike, especially as I commute to the office. I have to choose between the Garmin Varia RTL515 and the Magene L508. They are both the same price currently. Anybody have experience with the Magene? I quite like its "brake light" feature. What are your thoughts? Thanks
  16. I fitted Armour Ride a few weeks ago - not that difficult, just take your time and focus. CWC has a few options depending on the finish you are looking for (matte, gloss, fancy design etc) If you are willing to wait, you can order a kit designed for your bike specifically as well from https://armour-ride.com/
  17. Thanks for all the feedback julle. Appreciate it! I will try and get a test ride for both and then make my decision. Will also keep my eye on the classifieds.
  18. Hi all So I am in the market for a new bike, and saw that CWC has the 2022 Silverback Stratos Pro GX Carbon Dual Sus for R60k. Components looks good (Carbon frame, SRAM GX drivetrain, with SX crank(easily upgraded), Fox Rhythm 34 fork, Sun Ringle Duroc 30 (alu) wheels), and the price is also not bad (It is at the top end of my budget though...). Does anybody have any thoughts on the bike? I have test ridden the Alu version when they first came out, and was very impressed with the ride. I will use the bike mostly to do local (Botties and Tygerberg) trails but also to do some stage races or longer endurance-type riding. The other option I am looking at is the Trek Top Fuel 7 Thanks
