  1. The Connect App is on the phone (if you've downloaded it yet ) the one on your computer is Express
  2. Have you gone into the Connect app and checked whether it is connected? Better to pair through the app than manually n your phone...
  3. It is apparently a "nod" to divers watches ... http://www.ablogtowatch.com/ask-watch-experts/why-first-15-20-minutes-rotating-diver-bezel-colored/
  4. Sportsmanswarehouse were selling the fenix 3 performer bundle for R 6 400 on Monday (cybermonday)
  5. The little 'crossover thingy' that holds the excess strap in place did break and I had to buy a whole new (bloody expensive) strap. Upon investigation I did however notice some cracks in the old strap itself as well. I do however wear the watch 24 / 7 and train in some way every day whether it be MTB, Trail Running or hitting the gym or squash courts so can understand that it does take a beating.
  6. Unless if you want to mount it on the bar ...
  7. Will you not have food in your house if you buy it? Yes - don't buy it No - Buy it, you wont be sorry
  8. Anyone else have any issues after V8 upgrade? Did a 40min HIIT on the Wattbike which normally burns around 800 Cal ... gave me 200 Cal this moning?
  9. Unfortunately not but go and check what it shows as it does show quite a lot as some of the fields switch between two (or more) sets of related information.
  10. I use Rider and Runner Window as my main screens and then add whatever I want around that on separate screens. https://apps.garmin.com/en-ZA/developer/5f474e1f-572f-43d8-baf0-d7f0cbb8bce9/apps
  11. As far as I understood he has the HR version which has the optical HR sensor on the back of the watch. Haven't heard of anyone reporting no heartrate at all. Some have reported, what they deemed to be, inaccurate heartrate but not nothing at all. Take it back as it should still be under warranty.
  12. Yeah something I neglected t ask is whether they will replace for a cosmetic scratch as well or whether it need to be cracked i.e. the 'integrity' of the watch compromised by it. Otherwise we must just see what you can do on our own buy a replacement from ebay or wherever and have a watchmaker fit it in a vacuum for you... Edit: Or check here https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/200189-mio-link-white-with-charger/ Unfortunately the user isn't responding...
  13. As far as I know you can't unless if you order directly from them. Your alternative is MIO Velo or Link ( there isn't stock on the link as far as I have been told and they won't be bringing any more of those in) and you can only get the Velo at the moment. Some Totalsports still have stock on the Link but at a R300 premium (R1999 vs R1699)
  14. Ok I was in the area so quickly popped past and spoke to Phillip. Unfortunately not so good news.. Due to the high cost of importing a new body (around R4k) they do an exchange for around R2k - You take the watch with cracked glass in and they will replace the whole unit. Same with the HRM-Tri and HRM- Swim bands, since you cannot detach the sensor they will exchange it if the belt is worn out for around R1.2k.
  15. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Glass-Garmin-fenix-3-tactix-Bravo-part-replacement-repair-lens-HR-/262514302807?hash=item3d1f125f57:g:F6MAAOSwzJ5XfnTD But let me know what the guys at Navworld say, Regardt and Stephan are both really cool and always willing to help. I am currently struggling with the replacement of my HRM-Tri sensor's band as it has taken some strain over the last year and I bought it (brand new) off here but it seems like you will have to pay R2.4k every time it's done for a new one....
  16. Had mine for about a year now and been fairly happy most of the time. It is really the standard out there at the moment. Depends on what you're going to use it for. I wont ever get a watch with a HRM built in as I want to be able to mount it on my handlebar and that would then mean that would not work for me. If you only want to use it as an everyday watch and to measure your fitness in other exercises or do not mind about handlebar mounting it then I'm sure you can get it.
  17. Mkay, yip that does, well to the software version anyways the latest on that is 3.2 and with a beta release out of 3.31 (if you're feeling adventurous) I do not know why it would not display even though you dropped it in the correct folder.
  18. That's weird..
  19. I think it's time for an update ... The latest is V 7.2 You won't quickly run out of memory on the F3 anyways looooong past where your recovery will be influenced by it. Unless if you just sprinted a 1500km at HRavg of 200% ... in which case you'd be dead and it won't matter anyhow I think upgrade first and see if that solves your problem. Let us know!
  20. Settings > System > About
  21. No ish man then I don't know. Just tried it again with another one of my old exercise files and it works. Which version of the firmware are you running?
  22. The file is being downloaded as a *.ZIP you need to unzip/extract that and copy the *.fit file that is extracted from that to the GARMIN > ACTIVITY folder on your F3. Just quickly tested and if I then go to my watch HISTORY > ACTIVITIES it appears.
  23. Go to Activities screen on Garmin Connect and then download the *.fit file in question to your pc. Now connect your fenix and browse to the Activities folder and copy the fit files there. Should work as that is where your watch stores activities
  24. It most certainly does update automatically. You will get an on-screen message after your exercise has been completed to inform you of the new record. For instance I bettered my 10k time yesterday and it shows under records on my watch. It also shows under personal records on the garmin connect portal but needs to be accepted there manually to update the existing one on the portal.
  25. Have you maybe rune faster with the watch on than was previously recorded n Strava or did not sync the previous PB. Look under Records for the time and see if they correspond with the times on the actual exercise (look at the splits on the actual exercise) and on Strava.
