  1. Tough choice but it is the right one. I feel for all those that trained hard, got their bikes sorted and were chomping at the bit to just get going. Saying there's always next year is not going to ease the pain.
  2. Ranger just chilling at the night market.
  3. We are a bit wary of the mismanagement by SAPS so I'll PM you the contact details of the guy that did the citizens arrest he is trying to coordinate the ID parade to make sure it happens.
  4. Just a correction it is one suspect in custody and he is the kingpin. We need to put this guy away so please if you or someone you know has been attacked and you have opened a case please contact me so that we can get you to an ID parade. This guy has already been released twice because witnesses don't come forward. I can't stress how frustrating it is to everyone involved when we catch the perpetrators and we can't follow through with prosecutions.
  5. Seems like we have a gang of four operating. CSI Security have offered to patrol the area so we will catch the other two soon enough.
  6. Some good news the suspects have been located and are under arrest. What we need now is for any recent victims to contact me so that we can facilitate the ID parade.
  7. We forget how short our time is with our furry companions today they're cute and cuddly, tomorrow their characters make us laugh or despair, eventually they become our faithful protectors and companions, their twilight years are filled with simple love and respect. Enjoy the journey it's worth it every time.
  8. Sadly these guys were released by SAPS Sunnyside before we could hold an ID parade. I am not going to let this go.
  9. https://www.businessinsider.co.za/some-light-at-the-end-of-the-load-shedding-tunnel-new-independant-power-plants-could-be-connected-to-the-grid-by-february-heres-what-is-coming-online-and-when-2019-12 These projects were delayed by Zuma for 4 years and if he did not interfere we could have had 4 times that quantum of 2300mw online. All to protect his mates Brian Molefe and the Guptas coal business. Renewables have their downside in terms of base load but in the South African context it would have saved our butts.
  10. Last month we had a report of a crime incident in the Fort Klapperkop reserve and I decided to take Ranger for his first bush sweep. He has been in the bush with me but never an active patrol and this is how he reacted. Shortly after the video was taken one of the security guards emerged from the bushes, which was what he was reacting to and he went into attack mode, he has never been trained to do this so it was pure instinct. To his credit the security guard stood absolutely still until I could get Ranger under control. He asked me afterwards "Sal hy my gebyt het?" my answer of "net so bietjie" did not do anything to reassure him as he tried to work out what damage a 60kg Rhodesian Ridgeback would've done to him. Two weeks after that we had another report of someone jumping the fence and I took him out again, he needed very little encouragement as he picked up the scent quickly and the chase was on. Fortunately for the fence jumper he dived into a stormwater drain and I did not want to put my dog at risk so he got away, but I have no doubt that if they see Ranger they're not going to hang around. Things have been quiet in the reserve of late
  11. Outside of formal retail haggling is unfortunately part of the game get used to it or stay out of it. If you ever go to the middle east you're going to get the opposite the seller traditionally high balls the price and expects you to haggle, if you don't the seller is somewhat disappointed. I find it quite painful but it is the way they do business and you get better at it.
  12. Here's link of the ladies celebrating their court victory. https://www.facebook.com/saloshani.pather/posts/10219405771636611?notif_id=1566546741162052&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic_tagged
  13. Loved seeing this and it's huge kudos to the ladies that testified, they faced numerous court delays and let me tell you our courts are not the easist places to go to for any woman. Now to catch this latest gang operating in the area, my dog and I were on the heels of one suspect on Monday but he escaped into a stormwater drain under the R21. There was no way I was going to put my dog or myself at risk chasing after him, there will be a next time.
  14. Eish it's tough and we all go through it. Everytime we get a pup I remind myself that the journey is for a limited time only and I go about making the most of it while we both can.
  15. No subs for me, must be the first time that I haven't been forced to sub. Now for the GC contenders to win some stages and score some points.
  16. Okay so now I have 3 jerseys in my team, time for the mountains I say.
  17. Australia showed how far ahead Merc were from Ferrari despite the marketing hype suggesting the stallions had turned a corner. The truth is that F1 has ceased to be a contest for the last 3 years and can no longer compete for my attention. I think the F1 viewership has been reduced to a few diehards but it will struggle to get new viewers with this snorefest.
  18. Why only now? This season was over since Australia. I've changed to watching F2 and Formula E months back.
  19. My hypothesis is based on watching Sagan pulling some serious amps up yesterday's cat 1 climbs and I am not sure how many of these he still has in the tank. Although we have only 3 cat 1 climbs for today and tha same for tomorrow. All shall be revealed!
  20. I wonder if this is the stage at which the points start coming from the GC contenders rather than the sprinters.
  21. Klapperkop As a follow up to my previous report of renewed attacks at Klapperkop I did some investigating. If you recall we did a sting operation in Klapperkop in August last year where 2 attackers were shot (1 killed and 1 wounded) the others fled the scene. However, we had information as to their whereabouts and they were arrested the next day. It would appear that they were released soon afterwards without any ID parades to see if they could be linked to the numerous attacks that occurred in Klapperkop this time last year. We now have information that at least one of the guys arrested and released is behind the recent attacks. Graham De Lange and I took this up with the senior SAPS personnel this past Saturday at a SAPS community briefing and I am pleased to report that the matter has been escalated to Brigadier level who has appealed for those that were attacked to come forward so that he can follow through on these cases. This is where we need your help, if you or someone you know was attacked in the Klapperkop reserve please PM your case number to me so that we can get a response from SAPS. I know some of you might be a bit cycnical about this but having done this before I can state with some confidence that we did get results in the past. So far we have caught 4 and the sentences meted out vary from 13 -19 years imprisonment, please help us get the rest of this gang off our streets.
  22. How can you not take a Fantasy seriously, jeez people just can't get their priorities right.
  23. My team might need 25 stages for the long game to work
  24. If you enjoy walking them off leash you should try Hedianga Farm and Wolwespruit MTB park. you can easily get in 10+km from either venue. Hedianga is a working farm so the dogs need to be under control or keep them on the lead.
  25. This is the second incident in less than a week at midday on Saturday a couple and a bystander were robbed at viewpoint1, five men armed with knives. Clearly there is a new gang operating in the area so be very careful. All I can say is, here we go again.
