  1. Was it really bad service, or did you just have a bad day? I can badmouth half the bikeshops in Jhb and some in Pta if I wanted to, but am I being totally honest about it? Is it just my perception? Did I ask for assistance? Was I just pissed off because i didn't get laid, and now I feel like I'm being ignored in the shop as well?
  2. The Bikeshop part, Partly Yep The Lame Argument part, Nope
  3. Well then I have to add half the bikeshops in Jhb on the list of shops with poor customer service, especially on Saturdays, as there are many bikeshops where you have to go to the counter to ask for something if you want it. It is a Lame argument!!!!
  4. Well I was in Edgards for two hours yesterday and no-one acknowledged me there either, I was also browsing, and had money to buy stuff. You didn't see me starting a thread about Edgars's Poor Customer service this morning!!! I wanted to buy a nice Shirt & Tie for a wedding, and... I had to ask someone to help me find the stuff that I'm looking for. That's just the way it is... Well after I asked someone, they found something for me, and I bought it. Your sideswipe at the store in question is not justified by genuine Bad Service, but based on a perception that is fueled because you feel hard done by the fact that you were not attended to personally within 30 seconds. Did you ask someone to help you? Nope!!! Then you cannot really complain!!! Tell me, do you go to Steers and Nandos? cause you might be disappointed that you actually have to approach the service counter and ask someone for your order there as well, they do not service you at the table like they would at the Spur... For everyone of you, I know 25 people that are very happy with the Service that they receive at Westdene Cycles
  5. Well I have been a customer of Westdene's now for nearly 20 years, and I have NEVER had a problem with POOR Service... And at the end of the day, it's all about perception... I for one have a bad perception of the service at some of the shops mentioned in this thread as some of the bike shops with better service. I have also been to some of the bike shops where people have not addressed me in 10 minutes of browsing around, that doesn't make them bad shops with poor service!!!! If I had asked for something and then received poor service, or bad attitude, or being screwed over, then there is grounds for some complaints, but Really not if you haven't been swarmed by sales staff in 10 minutes. On any busy day (Mostly Saturdays) there is more than 30 customers in Westdene Cycles at any one time, with only 6-8 staff members, there simply isn't enough of them to attend to every single customer personally. So If you are looking for something specifically, then open your mouth and ASK FOR IT!!!
  6. Well last week I went to Westdene Cycles, I dropped off a bike and asked if they can build it up for me with my own components, not ones bought from them, but I even asked if they can help me out of a predicament, as I needed the bike the same afternoon, and it was hell busy before the 94.7... Well I can tell you, I popped past that same afternoon and the bike was completed as requested Now that is Service!!!! And with a smile!!!! They are always Courteous They are always Friendly They are always HELL Busy!!!!! So sometimes they can't jump on you because you just happened to walk into their store... but if you ask they will always get someone to attend to you. If their service was really that sh*t poor, they would long ago have been forced to close their doors. Yet, they are still consistently one of the more busy bikeshops in town!!! You won't survive if your service is as poor as you are trying to make it out to be...
  7. Wel.... Cannondale says it all!!!! Nothing more to add...
  8. Yep, Still have my First Cannondale M500 from 18 years ago, as well as my second one...
  9. Cyclingnews.com MTN saves the day for McLeod MTN Cycling signed Ian McLeod, just one week after his contract with the French-based Le Francaise des Jeux was not renewed. McLeod was the only South African to race for a ProTour team in 2007. He'll race for the domestic MTN squad, with its UCI Professional Continental Team status in 2008, in mostly African and Asian countries. "It was a no-brainer signing Ian. He's a high quality rider that's been on a ProTour team for the past three years. He doesn't have to prove himself. He will be a huge asset to our team," explained MTN Cycling team owner, Douglas Ryder, himself a former South African national team captain and 1996 Olympian. "I'm really grateful to MTN and Douglas for the opportunity," said McLeod. "To have raced 2008 on my own would have been tough, especially in a team sport like cycling. I'm looking forward to adding some depth to the team, particularly in the stage races and tough one-day races." The two-time Vuelta a Espa?a finisher has been dogged by injuries for the past two years. He tore a quad muscle in a crash in 2007, but related injuries followed and then he crashed and broke his collarbone in stage five of the 2007 Giro d'Italia. "I'm riding pain-free again which is a great feeling and plan to achieve some good form for the start of the racing season in January," he smiled. "I'm excited about the Giro del Capo and the Tour of South Africa, which are both UCI-ranked tours. I believe we'll have enough depth and talent in the team to give the international teams like Barloworld a good go." According to Ryder, McLeod has yet to reach his peak and is hoping that one year with MTN Cycling will give him a springboard to get back into the European peloton. "Talent like Ian's must be nurtured and not lost to South African cycling. I want to see him achieve his potential and hope that his time with MTN Cycling allows him to regather himself for another shot at a ProTour team contract in future."

  12. I Actually wanted my Cervelo painted as in your Pic Mampara, but wanted the black sections to be naked Carbon, but because of the way the carbon is joined and some aluminium inserts showing, It could not be done. So it ended up in a totally different custom designhttp://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v162/96/44/630236579/n630236579_461764_5253.jpg http://www.tcsn.co.za/downloads/TCSSolo02b.jpg
