  1. LOL my friend's mom has one and she really drives like a 530d in it! Thanks guys, wanted to use something that I already have, then maybe going to replace the blue LED's with wide angle Reds. I guess if I’m caught I'll give the excuse of Malema..."I didn't knooow!"
  2. Ok so I've only been riding on tar recently with the MTB. I ride about 6pm-8pm in the evenings and yesterday I was almost run over by a BMW driver at Plattekloof Road, not seeing me although I have a red backlight and I was wondering on behalf of visibility...is it illegal to attach some blue LED's on the back of the MTB? I have a previous built project which includes 2 wide angle Blue LED's flashing slowly, that i want to put on the rear of the MTB. I know that only police and traffic cops may have blue lights, but I'm on a cycle and with those blue LED's people will definitely see me from a distance. Wouldn’t want to get a fine...so anyone knows if this is legal?
  3. Agree, mine only held a few rides, managed to save it before it was too late. What fox shorts do you have?
  4. Hell Yeah! Been wanting to test that out in the dunes, but I'll replace the rear track with another sled like the DH snow guys' bikes. Walking up a dune is tiring enough.
  5. Yes im running tubeless. The tyres last quite long, longer than I expected though. Rode 150km on tar this week and all looking good with minimal wear. I've had a few thorns I had to take out and plug but nothing serious. Some say go for lighter tyres and all depends, do you want to finish fast or do you want to finish...
  6. As far as grip goes they do their job quite well, had mine for a few hundred km's but they're not that strong as I hoped, had a few punctures between the two Crossmarks but fortunately no sidewall cuts.
  7. Totally agree with Steelydan, bought my bike 2nd hand for a bargain price and I have no problems with it. Giant 4 life!
  8. I thought I was the only one disliking the magazine, seems not. Now which are the decent MTB magazines one would recommend?
  9. My uncle is a race snake and he started out with the phoenix and the only problem he had with the 09 model was that he had snapped 5 spokes on the rear rim just by riding in normal conditions but otherwise very nice bike, but wouldn't swop it for my Giant.
  10. ooh my bad! But the town's also got a moerse climb just outside it haha
  11. I’m not so lucky with the Crossmarks LUST. Think mine has done about 800km and got 6 minor punctures already , the tires are beginning to look like as Rasta of all the plugs, thinking of getting Conti Mountain king UST 2.4...they any good?
  12. I use self vulcanizing tape, the black rubber tape mostly used for electrical connections, when the tape is wrapped it fuses together and works really well plus it's got no sticky stuff. http://image.fourwheeler.com/f/techarticles/9570696+w200/p39044_image_large.jpg
