  1. Old question, but forgot the answer. I am looking at buying a specific bike (carbon with carbon fork), but the fork was cut just above the steerer tube (no spacers). I know for a fact that that is too low for me. Is there a way of getting it higher, except for angled stem.
  2. My 9sp chainrings were shot and I bought 10sp chainrings on the hub. My 9sp casette is relatively new, so no need to replace. I asked the question because the chain kept on slipping in between the rings when changing from big to small. 9sp Chain works 100% if you put the rings on right way around.
  3. True, I live in an area where we have a few roads going out of town, but the safest route is the one used by coal trucks and we never had an incident. I guess I can say we have a relationship with the drivers. Every time they pass us or come from the front, we greet them and give them a thumbs-up if they go over to the other side of the road. If the group is to big and they cannot pass, they will slow down and wait until it is safe to pass. People that use the road regularly, recognise the cyclists, but from time to time you get the GP driver that don't slow down and blow the hooter. We just give them a friendly wave and hope they feel bad. One of the benefits living in the platteland.
  4. Different people gave me different answers on this one. If you want to fit 10spd chainrings with a 9spd groupset, what chain should you fit, i.e. will a 10spd chain work with the 9spd casette as it is, or do you need to replace the casette (or spacers), or do you use a 9spd chain?
  5. If you look at the karbona website you will see the exact frame know as the "muscle light" or newer "Karbona light". It is a Taiwanese company and word is that traditionally they have built frames for Raleigh, but are now selling under their own name. I know someone who has a frame like this, it cracked at the bottom bracket and the frame is getting replaced with the newer version.
  6. First of all, thanks for the great response to my question regarding buying a carbon frame. Specially being my 1st visit to the hub. I visited the other web sites mentioned and can see that there are a lot more options to consider. Does anyone have an idea what the import tax would be on a complete bike, or where to find out? Thanks againKobie2007-02-28 03:47:54
  7. I'm also looking at upgrading to a C frame and is interested at a Karbona Muscle-lite. Check out their site at Karbona.com. The price for the frame is below 4G, but thats without getting it here - still wait to find out how much. All other accessories are available at great prices. My problem is : What about the guarantee if you import directly? Has anyone done this in their private capacity and how does it work?
