  1. Hi guys, finally an update. The service from Lyne has been amazing. From the get go everything on there website works, tracking, tracing, packaging is exeptional. As for the 27.2 dropper with no set back, my set up now is 15mm closer, more forward, than it was, and to be honest, maybe a better set up as i feel i am putting more power straight down. The quality of the dropper, the 110mm of drop, the remote over bar lever, all top quality. So how is the ride, o wow! I cant believe how much safer and easier it is on technical, downhills, trails and so on. You have so much more space to move around now that the seat is out of the way completely. Yes, it has added over 500g to my total weight but for what i am getting in return its a no brainer.
  2. Sunday update. Taken the plunge and ordered the Lyn 110mm dropper. I think set up will be fine as my seat currently is all the way back. Will report back on test rides. Looking forward to getting the saddle out of the way on technicals and rough downhills. It's just safer.
  3. Hi guys, they def do, they always out of stock, but i saw one for myself a few months back when i started looking at options. Its actually not half bad to be honest, i think its also R2 500 with 120mm travel. Dont know the exact model name though sorry. LBS getting stock by this Friday, can try sneak a few pics for you.
  4. Hey Q, D, local bike shop is getting a Giant dropper in, no set back. Will try this for ****s and giggles next week and see what measurements say. Not really keen on a new saddle but maybe as you say its an option [longer rails]
  5. Hi Diesel Point taken and noted but seeing as my seat is relatively far forward currently maybe the dropper Mark spoke about with 15mn set back might just work and my saddle ends up being more in the middle.....only way is to test. I really hope I find a solution to this.
  6. Hi Giant, a local bike shop advised that as an option as well, BUT, it took me a while to get my set up the way i want it, i am sure you know that feeling. I think i will take up Bongo and be the test review rider for his set back dropper At the price he quoted its more or less in line with others.
  7. Thanx guys, pity, thought as much.
  8. Hi Q, se 2 x pics.
  9. Hi guys, really need some advise here. On my silverback superspeed 2 carbon, looking at getting a dropper post, internal, 27.2mm. Here is the catch. OEM carbon post has a set back, looks to me like a 15mm to 20mm offset. My current seat position is forward, so my thinking is perhaps perhaps just maybe if i fit the dropper it might work if my seat is far back as possible, basically canceling the set back out. I found this for a landed cost, duties etc...for R2 500, it has a 20mm setback: https://www.modernbike.com/ks-eteni-dropper-seatpost-27.2-120mm-travel-black But i cant take a chance an order something which will need to be serviced or repaired as dropper posts need. 120mm travel would be great. What local options, or are there current specials, would you advise. I have been told to look at Lyn, x fusion, Giant. Prices range from 2.5k to 4k. I guess that would be my budget as well.
  10. Thanx guys, all understood. Problem is, life happens, for me to say i will get 900 points every week, 4 weeks in a row, dont think it will happen. But even if i do 400 points a week i guess it still counts for something. Re booster, dont think you can get an apple watch on booster at sportsmans, maybe its just garmins, fitbits etc... I am still leaning towards amazon, with shipping i can get a series 3 landed for 230usd, duties, vat, all in for R3 500. Space grey 38mm gps only. Will wait till november, massive black friday specials perhaps...
  11. Hi Reme, shot allot for your reply. So if i understand correctly, discovery charges a once off R999 fee on your credit card. The price or value of the so called watch is higher than what it sells for lets say on take allot. If you dont work out hard every week you dont get much refund. As you mentioned, you have to keep going the whole month, especially week 3 and 4. I guess its better to buy it out right and work out a normal.
  12. Hi guys, i just activated active rewards. Have never thought of it in the past as i dont like to jump thru loops to get this and that, a bit old school. So i have a few noob questions. I see they charge you a once off activation fee of almost R1 000, which goes of your discovery credit card, which ihave had for years. If you reach your weekly goals do they refund you that as well or not. They list for example a series 3 watch at R7 400, but i can get the same or very similar from amazon for 200usd. So do they add the R999 activation ontop of the R7 400 for the series 3. On takealot and istore the series 3 is R3 999 or similar/. So maybe the price has come down. I already have a decent watch, so would give this to my son for Christmas, i work out, get the goals, he uses the watch lol. Is my thinking on track here or what am i missing? I was also thinking of upgrading to discovery bank, i already spend over 5k per month on the card, so it seems if you opt for a gold card, thats R75 per month on bank fees, so much less than standard bank where i am currently. It seems not bad these watch and phone deals... If i mtb 3 x per week where i usually get 300 points, thats 900 points for the week, if i can do that lets say 2 x weeks out of the month then surely i am scoring compared to not using this whole active rewards?
  13. I found the article: https://sparkbikereview.com/silverback-lands-their-entry-level-aluminium-version-of-the-stratos/ "The new Silverback Stratos AL frames are around 450g lighter than the Sido frames"
  14. Hi Super, true that. On the press release for the Stratos, they said it replaces the sido and is a lighter version, so in theory, it should weigh less
  15. How does the older Sido range compared to this regarding weight ?
  16. Hey Super, so, hows the bike, can we please have a brief review ?
  17. Hey super. Did you get your new bike yet?
  18. Noted tnx gents
  19. Hey Super, this makes me super excited lol. I hear you, a different fork will reduce weight, but as you said, the current weight is not really an issue. So noob question, can you lock both front and rear from the bars, i dont know much about dual sus. I assume you got to levers for locking front or rear out?
  20. Also looking at this for my wife in a small. Love the flat tube look. Do you think it's weight at 14.8 is fine? Her current hardtail is 12.8kg.
