  1. The fong kong bike was sold for 90k. A legit bike was bought in Aus for 80k. The dude from ASG, reckons that it would sell here for 150k. Its not just Cycle Science that are ripping people off, its ASG as well. Yes I understand that people are entitled to make money and earn a living and blah. But the bike shop in Aus is also making money and earning a living and blah. But to have to pay double the amount in SA - is just disgusting. To the judgemental idiot guy, a couple of pages earlier, who said that he wouldn't have spent 90k with a guy wearing baggies and a t-shirt, yeah because well dressed people never rip people off, or sell fong kongs //sarcasm off//
  2. If you are through the gates you can ride up until 5:30, is that correct?
  3. Here's a thought - buy it made in SOUTH AFRICA. Am so sick and tired of hearing and reading about people buying crap from China because its so cheap - the crime, the economy in our country isn't going to change because of people buying everything they possibly can from overseas because its cheaper. Yes things are more expensive because they are locally made, but they are generally of better quality and also it will help to keep many South African's in jobs. Everyone is so quick to buy things from overseas, but have any of you woken up to the fact that if you keep doing that there won't be a need to keep many people employed at all because everything will be shunted to overseas and hey you can just place your orders via email. No need to have an office and reps and staff in SA, so there go a whole lot more jobs.
  4. Seeing as you are so keen on saving the environment and water I sure hope you don't wear jeans
  5. There are lots of awesome recipes and vegatarian ideas, you don't need to add extra dairy and eggs to the mix nor do you have to add shed loads of vitamins either. You can get the same amount of protein from veggies than from meat, and its easier for your body to digest and use. Have a look at http://www.nomeatathlete.com/ There are a lot of awesome, quick and easy recipes on there. Also try get your hands on Thrive
  6. I did TD on ZERO training, but have started back training this week, so yeah it will be interesting to compare but not really a fair comparison. Also the last time I rode Shova was in a cow suit, that might also make a difference.
  7. Have a look at the Silva XTrail light, it will blind any squirrel that comes in your path. You can put it on your head or on your bars, and the best thing is that the batteries are regular penlight batteries. On the brightest setting you can see 200m at least, and it is unbelievably light in weight.
  8. Maybe its that I like climbing more than I do going downhill but I really found TD to be much easier than Shova.. Irrespective it was a a good one and bring on Shova in October
  9. Hope its not closed
  10. I also did the 105km... What a jol. The route was awesome. Although the climb up the M7 wasn't that much fun, especially considering that the furtherest I have ridden this year is 60km. Bronabee - I disagree with you about Shova being easier - I thought this was a much easier race, than Shova. And trust me I have done ZERO training The organisation of Tour Durban leaves a lot to be desired. I did the mountain bike race on the Friday as well, and we waited over an hour to get our numbers because of their inability to organise a piss up in a brewery. I did not enjoy having to carry my bike up and down THREE flights of scaffoloding, not once but twice. Stairs are not my friends at the best of times, now having to carry a bike and wear cleats... Oh and VE688 you are a JACK ASS of the first degree. We have just turned on to the M7 and IDIOT has to throw his gui wrapper into the bushes. When I called him up on it, he shook his head at me, like I am the one with the problem and the idiot, but hey he was the one who can take it out his pocket but not put it back. Also more than a bit concerned as to why you need to be sucking on gui at 10kms into the race. Will be back for the road race but not the mountain bike race
  11. If he lends them to me, then for sure...
  12. Oh and results will be up on http://racetime.co.za
  13. I was there, I did the 4km It was awesome as always. Well done illumin8 Look forward to the next one, which I am guessing will be the Polar Bear run
  14. Heard pretty good things about it. Try it on the 24 hour race, you will be plesantly surprised with the results.
  15. Sad part of that is, the kids parents don't seem to be teaching their kids manners or respect either. I saw a couple of Dad's riding with their kids on 94.7 mtb last year and instead of teaching their children to wait their turn, they were showing them how to push in and think they are better than everyone else waiting their turn.
  16. Dude you seriously need a wake up call in life. Just because you can ride over all the stuff doesn't mean that others can, just because you deem it easy doesn't mean that it is for someone else. They caused a bottle neck, so what? Its about getting out there and enjoying it. If you want to race for time, well then start upping your own game and ensure that your times improve and worm your way to the start of the pack, the choice is yours. A lot of the races are beginners or are dirt roadies and guess what we have ZERO skills and the only way we are going to get them is by entering the races and trying. Like Scotty, the more you swear, scream or shout at me, the slower I go. If you are that awesome you will find a way passed me. What I have realised this weekend, its not about whether you ride a roadie, or a mountain biker or a dirt roadie, how you ride a bike and compete in a race, is how you are as a person, and some people are just assholes.
  17. I like the "Current wives" part
  18. Will you lend me your legs for the Sunday?
  19. I wouldn't touch a flu shot but that is just me. Intagram injections (the generic of beriglobin) aren't the miracle cure to everything. You need to find other ways to boost your immune system. If you are stressed, run down, training hard, you will pick up something regardless of the injection.
  20. Try the school hostel
  21. The 'incline' to Pinetown? How much of a suffer fest?
  22. Your You sister cons everyone into doing things, whether they want to or not
  23. You are one to talk
  24. Anyone done the mountain bike race? Whats the 45km route like? Can't decide if I want to do the 20km or the 45km...
  25. Where did you find out the route details?
