  1. Enduro, no, won't be suitable in my opinion. Some people ride hardtails in enduro events, but for really you'd want something with a longer travel, at least 140mm IMO. Look at something like the Titan Skyrim LT, but this is way out of your budget, they start at around R25k. What about financing? Some outlets offer finance options over 12 - 48 months? If you go this route, just make sure you can afford it and what the total amount is you'll pay back.
  2. Holy **** thats a flippen good deal. R14k for a GX hardtail with a Rockshox Reba and Sunringle Duroc 30 wheelset.
  3. So an entry level dual sus starts at R16999.99 like the Titan Cypher Sport RS or 120, when on sale. You can generally upgrade this to a 12spd drivetrain for R3000 - R4000. I think they're at R28999.99 now at all your big bike shops. Current cheapest option is the Silverback Stratos AL Elite MS from Cycle Lab, they have on promo for R24999.99 if you want something decent to get into. Decent Suntour suspension and even has UD dropouts so if you're really feeling adventurous, you can upgrade to a Sram Transmission drivetrain, but more importantly, hangers will be widely available at all most all bike stores. Decently spec'd bike and has 11spd Microshift which is actually quite decent, of course not comparable to a 12spd Deore or Sram SX, but it'll get the job done. Your cheapies that you'll find new for sub R15k will be your steel Raleighs, Totems, etc from your big box stores like Game and Makro. I can not recommend more to not buy this. It will put you off cycling for possibly your entire life. You will have a crappy time from the get go, and when you have problems, nobody in those stores will help you, because they dont know how to help you. Perhaps get a decent hardtail. Look at something with a 10spd Deore, like a Stride Deluxe. Or, if you're willing to spend R10k, look at the Marvel Prime that Cycle Lab currently has on promo. It has a Sram SX drivetrain with a Suntour air fork. I think the next closest bike with similar spec is at R18k. Plus you got the protection of dealing with a cycling specific store that has knowledgeable staff and will support and look after you. This of course goes for all cycling specific outlets, they're all super friendly and always willing to help.
  4. That error is for the magnet. Its likely just out of position. Check if it lines up with the sensor, if not then realign
  5. In CCS defense, I've received possibly the best service compared to all agents in SA. If they dont have stock of the replacement, you get the next 1 up. Their turn around time has also been phenomenal, generally 24 hours
  6. CapeGroSports are the only official Vision agent in SA. Best to contact Vision directly, they know of the challenges in SA with the local agent and will likely sell to you directly. I had to do that after local agent wouldn't take my calls, respond to my emails or anything while I was looking for a replacement axle.
  7. I was just one of the lucky ones to get punctured 🤣 nevertheless a big thanks for you and the team, and yes, didn't see any gravel on the route so must have been one of the laaities from the night before.
  8. Got a few suggestions : 1. Now I know this may be a big ask, but would it be possible, at least within the Durbanville suburb streets, to have a street sweeper go through before the race? Lots of smashed glass in the road, I was unfortunate to puncture 3 times before I got out of Durbanville, specifically once on Koeberg Rd just past the sports grounds and then twice in Pretoria Way. 2. Some shade at the finish line. Most riders dont ride back to the racecourse immediately and want to cool down for 5 or 10 minutes. Fortunately it wasnt a hot day but previous years had been scorching. 3. Some bike stands at the racecourse would be nice. Tons of bikes laying around on the ground made it a tad of a schlep to move through. Otherwise, was a fantastic event, had tons of fun and will be there next year.
  9. Just a side note here. The courier truck was hijacked in Milnerton
  10. Another good option is the Silverback Spyke 26"

  12. Got myself the Red-E Aura open air earphones for my solo rides. Sound quality is pretty good. Cant compete against something in ear but at least I can hear my surrounds while listening to music and not having to force those who I pass or pass me to hear my music either.
  13. Much appreciated. I will chat with the team, must have been a mistake. I can assure you that Cycle Lab will in fact transfer your bike between stores, for a fee of course to cover labour, packaging and transport.
