  1. For that kind of money, look at the Silverback Scalera. You should be able to pick up full Ultegra kitted bikes. They are fast, stiff and reasonably light, sub 8kg. Not the most compliant/comfortable ride, but a real fast super responsive bike.
  2. Shimano Selle Italia SLR saddles. Nothing else will do Spez shoes
  3. Radio's, no radio's.....I don't think it mattered one whit. The four strongest guys just rode the others off their wheels when they went. Those narrow little Belgian roads does not give a rider much space to hide. If you are slightly off form, you will be spat out the back. But how in hell EtixxQS lost this one, no one knows. Boonen going at 4km to go was a huge mistake. One of the other two was supposed to do that. Boonen should just have followed Stannard and murder him in the last 200m. The other two Etixx blokes should just have kept on attacking Stannard. But I think Terpstra was the favoured team man for the win, not Boonen..........
  4. Driveside pedal features normal direction thread. So if you use a 15 spanner to loosen the pedal direction will be anti-clock wise. If you use an allen key from the back of the crack arm that direction will be clock-wise. Other thank that, spray some WD 40/q20 onto the shaft, leave overnight and try again. Often there is alumunium oxidisation. And get a longer lever while the crank is held in place by a friend or a vice.
  5. I have owned two. A 2007 Roubaix LTD and a 2008 Track Pro. Awesome machines. I will buy another Fuji in a heartbeat, especially the Alu Team SL. Well my nick says it all, doesn't it?
  6. So, did Tinkoff ditch SRAM or did Shimano come with a better deal? MTN also going with Shimano for 2015-? And with the demise of Cannondale, another SRAM-equipped team went. Who still runs SRAM, Etixx-QS, any others? SRAM better come with their wireless electonic shifting soon because the Jap and the Italian will just shut them out of the peleton completely.
  7. My first trackie.........I suspect of a few to come.
  8. My goodness, that is breathtakingly beautiful.
  9. It is massively disappointing that this stuff was presenet in his sample. But on a practical level he has two choices now. If he doped, come clean, confess, take the ban and still have some career left post ban, more like Frank Schleck rather than the Contador comparison. If he continues to deny any culpability/doping, his career is over as he will not be able to compete until he can conclusively prove he did not dope. To prove accidental consumption is going to be quite a feat given the use and availablity of probenicid.
  10. C59, thank you. That will be the only Colnago I would own, if I had the means.
  11. Way back in 1991, helmets were not compulsory. I crashed and ended up with a severe concussion. A helmet would have prevented this. Since then I have been riding with a helmet. I have crashed many times since then, but no concussion yet. The helmets though bear the scars that would have been on my head.
  12. Gummi, can I use your pic for my FB feed. Please. I have some friends who thinks the worst things of cyclists. This will shut them up proper.
  13. Do you use good quality sunglasses? I have found that the glare off the road causes me to squint and the subsequent eye strain led to some impressive headaches. That disappeared when I decided to wear sunglasses while riding. Before that I never used to wear sunglasses. But I know that headaches can be symptomatic of dehydration as your blood volume level drops. Very similar to sunstroke.
