If It would make cycling safer and give us better roads I would pay a licence fee with a smile, but get real! We pay huge amounts of taxes on vehicles and look at the state of our roads. Waht are they gonne do with the bit of money from a cycle licence. Its a good idea but not in SA.

Thug: Thanks for advice, but I recon you can put extra clothing in the bunjee mesh can't you? 10litres sound very big, and I heard the Camelbak mule is very popular one for MTB and it has only 3 litre capacity? I mean I just need space for spare tube, tyre levers, pump and maybe energy bar or two, or what am i missing, I am new to the mtb so need as much advice as I can get.

I have seen and heard a bit about the hydration packs, but does anyone know anything about the Dakine Enduro? By the looks and description it sounds good, and its a bit cheaper than camelbaks. Thanks for all the responses so far! But can anyone tell me more about the Disc brakes this Merida comes out with. The Juicy 3? I heard that its better to have decent V-brakes than cheap disc brakes, but does the juicy 3 qualify as cheap or will they do the job better than V-brakes.
