I would recomend an extra plain (cheap) rear rim fitted with a slick to replace your existing wheel when on the trainer. Using a trainer on knobblies will run your tyre down in no time. would not even borther fitting a rotor for the brakes, should not be more than R700 - 1000, worthwhile considering price of new tyre
If I am not mistaken the wheels on the Anthem are mounted on DT Swiss hubs which has sealed bearings. If they do not feel rough and no lateral play they should be fine.
i would only start worrying about them if you ride dusty/muddy conditions.
first off - can only run a 8/9/10 spd chain with a 8/9/10 spd drive train, they are not cross compatable.
they may not necessarily fit as is as the chainstay length on the various bikes may differ, may have to add or remove some links.
Looks more like some or other light teakSure hope so.. you'd pay a pretty penny for those floors nowadays. Especially in oregon pine
BCD of both chainring and crank needs to be same. SRAM (GPX) has a 120 BCD, not sure about the XTR.
Weight wise the difference is minimal. Found that cheaper versions SRAM 1050 works just as well and last longer than 1090 etc
still waiting for mine to be delivered - bloody postoffice strike
Springs do not stretch, try swapping cleats around. They are made to have a bigger clearance on one side, think it is cleat with 2 dots are on left foot
yipee, just the way i like to start the year - now if only I could actually win something!!
Loaded rims also an option especially if you want some bling
medium should be fine but do yourself a favour and get the Type 2 from the onset - better chain retention and less noise. aslo easier to remove and fit back wheel.
Bearings still look fine
Left or right side, broke one of my lenses and they (Bosal Koedoespoort) supplied me with a replacement unit. They dont supply individual lenses, you need to buy whole lens unit
Recently replaced my XO jockeywheels with Hope jockey wheels as the chain started slipping from wheels causing chain to derail. No hassles thus far, hope they last longer than SRAM wheels
Be carefull, Fox has issued a warning that if fitted in the manner depicted above the shaft does not get lubricted properly as all the oil lies at bottom of chamber. Might have wear and warranty issues
Velolife in Menlyn at motorcity, next to Glasfit
Might as well not have a saddle, cannot for a moment think that it would be comfortable
Nothing which a pop rivet/cable tie cannot fixWhy? I think you could certainly learn how and be capable of making a strong joint in a weekend - might not look pretty, but that is just practice and knowing how to get the setup right to achieve what you want to achieve - but you only have to know how to get it right in 1 limited situation to build a frame.
There are frame building courses in the UK that manage to send most of their students home with a frame after less than a week...
I say it is definitely possible to do, especially with a good instructor.
find someone who use Look pedals and bum some of their spare shims which comes with the Look cleats
Some rotors have a minimum thickness stamped on them (Formula - 1.75mm). I would imagine other makes have similar guidelines. Measure with venier or similar instrument to ascertain thickness. Replace when it reaches those parameters.
Flex in your frame over rocky sections causes chain to drop to smaller chainring

You hit the nail on the head. Cheaper to run XO1 although XX1 has bigger bling value, but hey anyone ridding whatever 1x10/11 automatically moves up in the pack no matter what they ride
