Konafan - will the wipperman / sram chains be readily available at bike shops?

Today the chain broke in the middle of the climb,as we came off the N14 - but could have been damaged before that. I watched everytime as the new chain were joined and can attest to it being done properly. Will have a look tomorrow exactly where it broke - if i get close to the bike today, it is going to end up in a dustbin.

the Shimano groupset is brand new - really need to make it work, can't afford to buy campy now...
  4. I have now broken 3 different chains 5 times - started by breaking 2 ultegra chains twice each and broke a new Dura Ace chain today, with 20 km's to go in the 94.7 . I am extra carefull in the way that i switch from the big to the small front ring ansd all gear changes on the back chainring. I really need to hear if somebody can help me - I have new Ultegra compact cranks with matching gears - have a Powertap hub at the back, built into a Mavic Opne Pro wheel - I am now at the point where i want to take a 10 pound hammer to my bike and forget all about cycling! Is there anybody that have had similar experiences? + I need help desperately to solve this problem!
  5. How much are those Pinarello frames selling for?
  6. No Doubt - BSC it is - great quality product!
  7. Uses wind resistance to determine power - therefore not good indoors on IDT or in bunch - most guys here use the PowerTap - Previous discussion here: https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=8332
  8. OK Narra, this link might be the best one for a definition: http://www.cyclingforums.com/t395601.html lots of further discussion there as well
  9. A big discussion around the indoor vs outdoor subject can be found here: http://www.cyclingforums.com/t343971.html
  10. will be doing my indoor FTP test when this next cold spell takes a hold - making as much time as possible for riding outside
  11. Use a light mounted on the helmet or around the head - like those sold in Outdoor Warehouse etc
  12. Nope - no info, only that the ambulance was tending to a cyclist on the ground with 2 or 3 other cyclists standing around - was hoping that somebody on the forum knows what happened. Those signs on the loop do look very nice!
  13. Seem like another cyclist was just involved in an accident on Hendrik Potgieter drive - Taxi involved, brother just drove past the scene and phoned me. Ambulances are on the scene.
  14. Muxman - I suggest you have a chat to Bikemax or Bruce - have had the same HR response when I trained and raced - you need to understand what you real HR zones are as it relates to your FTP and only then can you train in the right zones
