  7. Tyre taken to LBS Who were rather concerned. Continental not interested so I phoned Ray of Continental in JHB Who admits to seeing a lot of rub strips tearing away from the tyre wall. Promptly informed me under inflated told him that at 2.1 bar it could not be underinflated, then told me my brake blocks could have chafed the tyre ,Dear Ray I have disc brakes, Wheel rim must be rough or chafed not so ,wheel must be out of true not so . Dear Ray I now realise what I did wrong I BOUGHT CONTINENTAL as this is the second tyre that has failed in the same way on two different bikes with two different riders
  8. Today we had a second failure on a Continental tyre both have torn away at the beading resulting in blow outs one was a Mountain King and the other is a Race King 2 months old +_100km tyres inflated at 2.1 bar .Walls seem very poor and weak at the join to the beading . Has anyone else had similar problems tubes are used in them
  9. Otero,s do not have many fans
  10. An eeze out should work can buy them in sets at a tool shop .They have a tapper and an anticlockwise thread which locks in the allen key hole when turned anticlockwise ,at other times you can grind a pyramid tapper on the hardened steel of an old ezee out and that also works
  11. Have four sons and cycle with all four and have two grandsons methinks his theory sucks

  15. About 2 or 3 months ago i posted re the non arrival of Tread magazine subscription was given many explenations etc .The problem still exsists and has not been rectified . Once again the magazine was on shop shelves about 2 weeks ago and subscription still not received. NB not a single subscription has been received this year without a lot of bitching and moaning . We are at our wits end with regard to this problem . PLEASE DONT GIVE ANYMORE EXSCUSES BECAUSE THAT IS ALL THEY ARE. This problem needs to be rectified as it was a gift from one person to another and has been far from that
  16. Done and dusted and may all the hatred and drivel practised by some be buried at sea and this great country proceed forward for the good of all its citizens including you and me

  19. I would bet most members know other members.Ihave only been on for a few months and watching the adds have come across people that i know from my local area would probably be 6 other members if not more and that is the ones i have sused out, there surley must be others that i have not come accross. These members could vouch that i am whom i claim to be and are from area x and are not John the friendly Nigerian. I also feel that a bit more information should be compulsory when registering on the site EG my Club ROAG number of which there are +- 20000 members , Am a CSA member , am a member of MTBiker a cycling forum Okay information will vary from person to person but more info =more faith hence no info = no sale We are not in the secret service and therefore donot need to be undercover Therefore your actual name should be available for all to see
  20. And so what has changed. Possibly it was job creation
  21. Have the Raleigh Nomad FS20 WE HAVE THREE OF THESE BIKES IN THE FAMILLY.I highly recomend this bike we got ours for 12k from Hattons PMB.A excellent bike at a very good price. This bike rides exactly like a hard tail meaning no suspension bob and feels just like a hardtail until you hit something and you then realise that a hard tail would have hit back at you.One of the recent cycle magazines showed this bike at a recomended retail of about R12495 whilewhen we bought the recomended was R12999 so who ever gave the price to you needs to sharpen their pencil. Please feel free to ask any questions on this brilliant bike.My son is 27 and uses his bike in the 40/45km events in KZN and is over the moon with the FS20 which is +-5k cheaper than other comparable equiped bikes
  22. Have the typical ANC solution pass another book full of laws and do nothing about policing them. Remember speed does,nt kill its the sudden stop .
