  2. Came home to find a case of brewskis courtesy of @rouxtjie. Thanx bud. Guess I'm in charge of carbo loading for the next event. Haha
  3. @Sometime is super defensive this week. Must be on his cycle??? @Still learning dude it is the most technical Nissan race in the series so ride the bike you feel most confident with.
  4. Just don't use wet lube
  5. Only after I wash my bike. Wet lube 70km in bela bela in winter messed my chain up so badly. The links had more play than the grotto at hef s place
  6. Correct on the top line
  7. Bennie you clown. Well had mine on backwards and was breaking links. Hint 1: once you have found te length you want remove the pin on that link. Don't don't don't push the pin all the way out. Just push it out enought that you free up the outside link. You can then slide it down and separate the chain. This will make butting it together much easier. On a new chain it might be stiff so you might have to push the pin until it is just holding in the link. Hint 2: put it on the right way round; rounded edges run on the inside, flat side facing up on the top line. Bigger side of the links running towards the crank on the top line. Hint 3: degrease chain (the lube it comes with turnings into a nice grinding paste in or dry dusty conditions) lube with a dry lube (I use white lightening blue bottle {clean ride} throughout the year. Not a big fan of wet lubes. They are gunky and the dirt that collects in them both damages the chain and you can't see the cool colour.
  8. Haha classic. Woulda killed for one of those 30 gears. I had a shocker of a race. Bad gear choice saw me spinning. Those long district roads are soul destroying for me. I ride MTB for the tech stuff. Was gonna pull out due to shear frustration at the water point after the railway line, but I caught a family member from A batch having a really bad day and decided to pull her to the finish. Then spent 40 min chatting in the line (singletrack) by the broken bridge. So was not a happy camper by the time I finished. But soon cheered up by Eldron, rouxtjie, eyecandy,MTB barbie and JCZA. Nothing beer and jagger can't fix

  15. Have you not seen how not big his calves are not.
  16. I actually saw him checking out my blue GT SS at the lion water table at the cullinan race. Made that's what turned him? Haha. He did say something to me in Afrikaans about kinderfiets or something as I went past him a little later. Sorry I'm a zimbo so my grasp of Afrikaans is limited. Haha
  17. And those are quartz puppy
  18. On continuos singletrack there is a little bottle necking at the tart and then it works itself out eventually. The problem is when you have short ST then long district roads. The dirt roadies come flying past you ( espacially since I'm on an SS) and then stop in the ST and you go past and then same issue.
  19. That must be one BEEEG Cotic
  20. Correction the USN race is held 3 km away and has 35 km of singletrack. plus I have done plenty ride in the area and there is no shortage of ST.
  21. Looks like 2007 RWC Champion Victor Matfield is gonna be attending the 2012 SSWC. As seen on his twitter feed. “@VictorMatfield: Getting my single speed tomorrow. Hard work before the single speed world champs”
  22. Jules It has been discussed at length and decided please can you not comment on this post. We were talking about you. Not TO you. This is a place where us mere mortals can talk. Even Eldron is here by the slimmest margine. Hahaha. Jokes great race bud Thanx for representing.
