I always reply to a “is this available” with a “yes” reason being it may be a serious buyer and the “is this available “ is just his/her way of starting the conversation. when I respond to an add I do however try avoid the norm and I start it with something slightly more original that may catch the sellers eye and let him/her know that I’m a serious potential buyer if all checks out with the item that they have for sale. I avoid Facebook all together I’d rather give something away than sell it there. So many scammers and chancers that it’s actually not worth it at the end of the day.

WhatsApp group for like minded riders, builders etc? been toying with the idea of creating a WhatsApp group for guys and girls interested in older bikes. A group where technical advice and build ideas can be shared also a place for guys to swop and sell bits they may have kicking around the garage ? I love new bikes just as much as the next guy but there is just something special about a retro build. I have the same group for my motorcycle stuff where we all have some banter sell trade and show off motorcycle stuff so I thought why not do the same with bicycles ? pm me or drop a comment if you are keen if not ? Iv just recovered from a running injury (eye roll) so I’m going to focus much more on being on the bike than running. I’m relatively okay with the big hills … but the 11/46 cassette will take care of anything my legs can’t ????

Hi all I’m planning the cross cape for the end of the year. It’s something iv wanted to do for ages and I haven’t had the best two years with this darn pandemic. I’m looking to do this ride to end 2021 off on a high note and let the better times roll in 2022. i ultimately would like to do it on my own to allow my self to clear my mind and reboot so to say. is this a really kaaak idea ? I’ll have all the important items with me I plan to travel light and sleep well in some bnbs 5 to 6 days is my goal to do it in.
