    Fully ! This I guess is my worry is that I’m getting some lame components and bike for some decent money (or though is 18k a lot in the bike world ) if I set my search on the hub to a max of 20k I can’t even find much 1x stuff I like the simplicity of 1x drivetrains. what else could I look for before making a decision? I’ll visit my local bike store and see what they have in stock 2nd hand. but like you guys say the market isn’t really doing it’s thing at the moment.

    So do I .. but is it worth it ? Or am I better off buying 2nd hand maybe slightly older higher spec bike for around the same money?

    Hi. I’m looking at getting into abit of MTB. Gone from road to gravel and keen for more off-road. noticed trek has launched a 2022 Marlin 8 looks like a pretty cool bike and well rounded in-terms of components for what I need(not being a super serious mtb rider ) yet . They are priced at 18k all in. is this a bike for a guy starting off in the MTB world ? Or am I barking up the wrong tree? If so ... what else do you guys and girls recommend? cheers looking forward to the feedback !

    Sounds like a plan morne ! If you don’t mind me asking what did the stuff end up costing you ball park ? I’m assuming cheaper than buying here or you wouldn’t have gone though the hassle ? so if I understand correctly you placed and order with it’s delivery destination being amarax Greece ? And then from Greece to SA ? I am Greek and have loads of family there could I ship to them and they then ship to me ? I’m assuming customs hits you once they land in sa ?

    Thanks for that ! I didn’t know a pull ratio converter was a thing... as for those grx breaks and leavers those are unfortunately not in my budget at the moment. what’s funny is that we can’t import our own stuff due to legal reasons. I see at discount bikes (German store ) that same set comes to about 7k pretty much half. I have some contacts that side I may get him to send me a “gift”. But for now second hand ultegra leavers and flat mount breaks will do the job for me (if I can find some) and then I’ll just get that pull ratio converter and that rear mech you put a link to and be good to go !

    where are all the parts hiding ? ???? Where else does a home builder look for parts ? Other than bike hub or Facebook market place ? surely there are some “ hidy holes “ with all the good stuff hidden in ? ???? in need of some parts to finish off a bike and I just keep coming up short on finding them after watching the classifieds more than what’s deemed healthy ???? If anyone can assist id be really stoked with any contact or if you have the parts and they are not in use I’ll buy them ???? I need to complete the drive train on my gravel bike currently running a mis match and it drives my OCD out the window. i need the following 1X 11 or (1 x10at a push ) sram or shimano rear mech (force, ultegra etc) shifters (road /gravel ) And flat mount callipers to match (ultegra , force etc) thanks in advance ! From a very eager home mechanic ????

    Hi everbooody . Help .. I need some road leavers (sti) and callipers wanting to upgrade to hydro breaks in my gravel bike. Does anyone have that I can buy ? 10 or 11 speed

    I should maybe do the reverse get dropped in hoekwill and ride home . Sounds pretty rad! Iv just finished the gravel bike build and am waiting on some finishing touches to arrive and then I think I’ll tackle it ! stoked to hear you say it’s safe I definitely just over think it a lot . appreciate the advice and input we should link one day for that ride!

    Yea it’s soft of safe up here still... definitely getting more sketchy as the unemployment peaks with all these covid lock downs. Are you going to do that route ? Thesen to wilderness ? I’m guessing via seven passes ?

    Surely don’t sell it ? Donate it to a young aspiring rider. There are many associations that work with disadvantaged children/young adults. Who knows could create the next South African legend !

    Thanks guys ! Yea I normally ride on my own so that’s why I was keen on an event as Morne mentioned just a safe fun day or few days out with nothing else to worry about besides riding. Been looking at raes routes and missions and am planning a proper one towards the end of this year with a few mates from CT. I’m currently based in knysna thanks guys

    You see ! This is what I’m talking about ! How sick is that ! id love some of these in the braai room and garage ! seeing as I don’t put enough watts out to crack a frame ... or crash ... big touch wood on that.???????? where could I get a few frames to make decor like things from ? Saw some other really cool ideas on pintrst Lakker guys !
