    Give it a TRI

Dave, firstly, you must really want to do it, the full IM that is. Then, get a training programme and stick to it. Get your nutrition right, for training and race day, as it is possibly THE most important aspect of this adventure. Once you have got these items sorted, and you have buy-in from your family, then GO FOR IT. It is an awesome experience, and you can do it!!!

    Give it a TRI

breaker, if you can do each of the distances individually over the course of a couple of days, then you are more than ready to attempt a 70.3 distance triathlon (with some training thrown in). When I am starting my training for a specific event, my goal is to at least do the distance for each leg over the course of a week. i.e. for the 70.3 event, I will try swim 1.9km, cycle 90km and then run 21km in a week. If I can do this relatively comfortably, then I know that I am fit enough to finish the event. To then finish it well, I then add to that very basic formula.
  3. Any idea when the race report will be out? Or have I missed it?
  4. Good luck on the day !! Please keep the posts coming. Awesome dream come true scenario.
  5. Hello Ladies and Gents, I have been entertained by the Hub for a while now, and I think I may have a total of one post. Anyway, I am a farmer in KZN with a MTB and Triathlon problem. Have been competing in TRI since 1988, so the problem seems to be persisting in a bad way. Google Virginia Trails and that is my playground - I live next door. Thanks for the opportunity to introduce myself. Cheers Rob
