Good luck to everyone doing the Durban 70.3 event tomorrow.
  3. Hi Scott, I’m not doing the event and I live about 70km outside of Durban, but if you don’t come right, give me a call and I could help out. I’m from a farming area called Eston. Regards. Rob
  4. I can't seem to find what the distances are per day. Can anyone assist please? And daily ascent as well. Thanks
  5. I'm doing the Pinotage event. My first time at W2W.

What was your race number ? I think we are in the same age category - 1322 for me. I probably shouldn't have been on the start line, head cold or something kicked in quite severely on thursday and friday, but I figured that I would start and see how it went. Swim was good, cycle was ok as I had determined to keep the heart rate low as a Precaution. First 10K of the run was good, and after that it was a slow affair. Overall i was happy with my day all things considered.

So the swim is on. I'm probably going to regret only having done 3k total swim training !

Average Durban sea temperature for the month of October is 21* C. Very good chance of a wetsuit swim.

I think there might still be a chance that it's a wetsuit swim, but definitely prepare for the possibility that the water will be too warm for a wetsuit

I see the Durban 70.3 event has been postponed.
  12. Good Luck guys, I hope you have an awesome day out there. Please share race reports/experience from your day. Make the most of this amazing oppurtunity.
  13. Good time there, Shaper. Great effort.
  14. It was a very long day at the office for me. Great to be out there again. Slowest half that I’ve ever done.
  15. I phoned Ironman a bit earlier today and they say it is definitely on.
  16. I've just totaled up my training since 15th March. I have never done so little training leading up to an event. Swimming 2hours 40 minutes Cycling; 19 hours Running; 9 hours 20 minutes Should be a fun day out!
  17. I am hoping ??
  18. 1313 for me. Looking forward to it. Woohoo
  19. An interesting treatment that I have taken recently for Biharzia is Biltricide followed two weeks later by a course of Coartem. Bilharzia is very interesting as it can show up in many parts of the body. It has caused me to have, at various times, a cough, eyes being sensitive to light, fatigue, headaches. night sweats, etc. I have suffered with this for over 30 years and it seems as though the Coartem is a good follow up to the Biltricide.

Eish, I see my batch start time is 9.05am. It's going to be (potentially) a hot and windy outing for me.
