  1. Nice dude!! That bike looks amazing.
  2. I take it you had a wheel built by him. He was actually the first guy to pop to mind but just him being in JHB. I guess that shouldn't really be an obstacle.
  3. Its like my mate.. he buckle his wheel a bit. Sends it to a LBS, they tighten the spokes so tight is sounds like a guitar when he rides. There is a process one can follow to straighten the wheel a bit instead of just tightening the spokes moer toe.
  4. Everything is brand new. I dont expect the tensions to be exactly the same for all the spokes. It can be off here and there but not by much. I suppose drive side and none drive side will differ in tension. I no expert, that is why I am looking for one. And a tension tool is just a guide.
  5. I am sure all the mentioned guys are amazing wheel builders. I am about to spend plenty on hubs, rims and spokes. When I get home I am going to put the wheel on a truing stand and check if the wheel is vertically and laterally true. I will also check spoke tension (Yes I own a one). The tools are for maintenance but I did replace a rim before and it took me ages to get perfect. That is why I need a perfectionist wheel builder.
  6. Sounds like the man I am looking for.
  7. pretty much looking for a perfectionist.
  8. I did search the forum but no hits. Thanks
  9. Shot I will give him a call.
  10. Who and where can I find him?
  11. cool..makes sense. Thanks
  12. Why not remove the paint with sand blasting?
  13. Where is he based?
  14. But beacon mashmallow eggs are the best.
  15. You should check out Mobii
  16. Apologies for the misinformation. They should have swapped out the OP's Bryton immediately. He did not walk into the store to purchase a broken Bryton.
  17. Amazing job well done!! You have to publish a list of materials used and the suppliers. I am sure there are plenty of guys myself included who would love to take on a project like this. It looks f'ing cool!!
  18. Is not your consumer right to get a replacement or a cash refund if the item is returned within 7 days or something like that. I had a recent experience with a router at incredible connection. They were happy to give me a full refund on a faulty router.
  19. Ok now Marc is in trouble!!
  20. Yip, i think this is a step in the right direction. Another bike shop that is always willing to try is Crown Cycles and IMO they have one of the best and honest mechanics (Marc) in Cape Town.
  21. Would like to start by saying that I am a Chainreaction Cycles Whore. I had 2 items in my CRC basket which I was going to purchase. I dropped by Bridge cycles to pick up some goodies. I asked Marc (Bridge staff) if he could match CRC on the 2 items on my wish list. He made a call and he actually bettered CRC price. Marc asked me to come to him first before I import anything and he will try his best to match or even better the deal. This do does not mean he can always do it but depending on the price difference I will make my decision as to where I will purchase the goodies. Well, I am super chuffed with this arrangement. I would like nothing more than to keep it local.
  22. They will not import the 2013 mavic crossmax SX because the SX does not sell well. SX is an AM wheel so I assume they feel the same way about stocking the Reign. The least they can do is let CRC ship directly to us the Items that our local suppliers refuse to stock.
  23. Do you drive a X5?
  24. AM is not a money maker.
  25. Have to do the same with Mavic at least for the 2013 goodies on CRC.
