Hi Eddy, We have a back up plan for a shuttle back to Bloem. All depends on how many riders would like to make use of it. Most riders arrange their own seconds to fetch them. We also try and arrange a lift back for riders if need be. It is a fun day out on the bike. Its not a race, but it is a great experience and a fantastic ride.

Unfortunately the truth is that these small towns we are supporting are in dire need of events like this to support them. We will however be growing the series and move closer to GP

Event Name: TransXhariep 2018 When: 3 March 2018 - 4 March 2018 Where: Gariep Forever resort, Freestate Category: MTB The Why The Free State province is rarely explored by mountain bikers from outside the province, as it mainly serves as a stop and go or a quick visit to family when passing through to the mountains on the other side. We decided to tackle the Xhariep region as this is where most of the unexplored routes are found. The desire to ride from Dam to Dam has always been an exciting yet daunting thought, until we decided to man up and just do it. We created the Trans Xhariep experience as it will prove to be one of the toughest races in the Free State Province, as well as one of the most rewarding accomplishments you will ever try to achieve. The Where Starting in the town of Gariep dam, cyclist will be treated to a great atmosphere and race village, with a great variety of accommodation options available to pick and choose from. Gariep dam being very central for most, proved to be the key factor when trying to accommodate riders from all over the country. With the official race briefing and race registration the night before the start, riders can look forward to a great time and a good rest before setting off on a journey of a lifetime. Event Name: 3Mountains Challenge When: 18 March 2017 - 21 April 2017 Where: Clocolan Show grounds, Freestate Category: MTB The 3 Mountains Challenge is a multi-stage MTB Cycling & Trail Running event, that will be presented to the cycling & running community by Afri-Cycle Tours in conjunction with the Clocolan cycling community. This exciting event will take place from 18 to 21 March 2017 in and around the beautiful town of Clocolan in the Free State. The event will cater for all levels of expertise by providing different routes and distances to select from. 3mountains 2015 will be the second addition of the Free State's only multi stage race. Riders will be competing over 4 stages to be crowned Best team, King and Queen of the 3Mountains MTB Challenge. 3mountains accommodates the the entire family by allowing riders to choose between an Full distance of 70-80 km a day and a Short distance of 40km a day. Racing from the town of Clocolan each day allows riders to check out the local Clocolan carnival after the race. Amazing food and friendly locals, make this one of the Free States Cycling Highlites. This stage race has a whole host of different competitions. Long distance: Best Open Team Best Maters Team Best Mixed Team Best Solo Male Best Solo Female Short distance: Best Junior Male Best Junior Female Best U/16 Male Best U/16 Female The race is open to any rider that would like to experience the vibe of a stage race and the beauty the Eastern Free State has to offer.
