Hi Eddy, We have a back up plan for a shuttle back to Bloem. All depends on how many riders would like to make use of it. Most riders arrange their own seconds to fetch them. We also try and arrange a lift back for riders if need be. It is a fun day out on the bike. Its not a race, but it is a great experience and a fantastic ride.

Unfortunately the truth is that these small towns we are supporting are in dire need of events like this to support them. We will however be growing the series and move closer to GP

Event Name: TransXhariep 2018 When: 3 March 2018 - 4 March 2018 Where: Gariep Forever resort, Freestate Category: MTB The Why The Free State province is rarely explored by mountain bikers from outside the province, as it mainly serves as a stop and go or a quick visit to family when passing through to the mountains on the other side. We decided to tackle the Xhariep region as this is where most of the unexplored routes are found. The desire to ride from Dam to Dam has always been an exciting yet daunting thought, until we decided to man up and just do it. We created the Trans Xhariep experience as it will prove to be one of the toughest races in the Free State Province, as well as one of the most rewarding accomplishments you will ever try to achieve. The Where Starting in the town of Gariep dam, cyclist will be treated to a great atmosphere and race village, with a great variety of accommodation options available to pick and choose from. Gariep dam being very central for most, proved to be the key factor when trying to accommodate riders from all over the country. With the official race briefing and race registration the night before the start, riders can look forward to a great time and a good rest before setting off on a journey of a lifetime.
