We have made small changes to the start line-up in the interest of your safety and to ensure that the later groups cross the start line timeously. You have therefore been seeded according to the following guidelines: Participation in Seeding Events If you participated in any of our official seeding events (see below), we calculated your index by taking into consideration: - the distance and degree of difficulty of the course - the size of the field and - conditions on the day - combined with your race result in relation to the winner’s time. 2011 Seeding Events The following 2011 events were used for seeding: Herald VW Tour (105 km) - Port Elizabeth Reeds Chevrolet Ninety Niner (108 km) – Durbanville, Cape Town Dischem Ride for Sight (116 km) – Boksburg Daily Dispatch / Felt Cycle Tour (100 km) - East London Mountain 2 Mountain (106 km) – Tzaneen Dome 2 Dome Cycling Spectacular (98 km) – Johannesburg Kumba Iron Ore Classic (105 km) – Upington Rand Water Race for Victory (101 km) – Johannesburg Amashova Durban Classic (106 km) – Durban Bestmed Jacaranda Satellite Classic (97 & 114 km) MTN OFM Classic (99 km) – Bloemfontein Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge (97.4 km) – Johannesburg Die Burger Cycle Tour (92 km) - Stellenbosch, Cape Town In addition, your time in the 2011 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour and weighted results from the 2010 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour were also considered during this process. Please note that results for 2012 seeding events will not be considered, as these events will affect your 2013 seeding. Age & Cycle Tour history We have received numerous requests to take your age and number of completed Cycle Tours into account. If you didn’t meet the above seeding event performance criteria we seeded you as follows: Riders aged over 75 – in group Z; Club 21 members – in group BB; Riders aged 70 to 74 – in group CC Completed 15-20 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group EE; Completed 13-14 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group HH; Completed 12 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group LL; Completed 11 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group QQ; Participated in more than one seeding event in 2011 - in group TT; Completed 10 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group WW; Completed 9 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group XX; Completed 8 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group YY; Completed 7 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours – in group ZZ; Completed 5 or 6 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours & have an active PPA membership - in group PA; Participated in only one seeding event & have an active PPA membership - in group PB; Completed 5 or 6 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours (no PPA membership) - in group OA; Participated in only one seeding event (no PPA membership) - in group OB.
