  1. Thanks for the compliment No grease, it’s always good to have a clean knob. I’m travelling this week, when im back on Friday i will see if i can give the knob a good tightening. Hopefully thats all thats required. Thanks for all the advice and compliments too, Hubbers
  2. Thank you all for the help, will reach out to Holdfast and see
  3. Thanks Robyn, appreciate it!
  4. I haven’t done the size by size knob comparison, but I can only assume I have upgraded to a larger one 😊 Here are some pics of the knob and the carrier. I believe these ball shape knobs are made to allow for swivel (trailers etc) so I can only think I need to get another one? Thanks
  5. Hi all I got a new car and it comes with the tow ball tow hitch (Ford Everest) and my two bike Holdfast platform carrier is now swivelling on it. I never experienced this with my previous car which had the gooseneck tow bar. Am I just being a doofus or is it because it is a completely rounded tow ball? I have tightened the nut as tight as I can with a spanner and plenty elbow grease but still just doesn’t hold in place. Any advice please? Thanks!
  6. Yeah I reckon it’s safe, will be cold right now though
  7. Not sure but I’m looking forward to it! Definitely some cobwebs to dust off though!
  8. Watch out for sharp rotors when checking if your front wheel is still running true. *removed the more gruesome pic
  9. I was looking at the Titan Hades for my 9 year old (he is now ten) and it is an awesome bike. However I decided to go a size up and bought an XS Signal with 26” wheels and he is growing with the bike and is able to ride with me which is awesome for us both. I don’t think you could go wrong with either option. https://rushsports.co.za/collections/signal-bicycles/products/signal-signal-s610-bicycles-frames?variant=31261312974951
  10. A busy week and weekend: 1. Night ride at Taroko Modderfontein on Wednesday 2. Late afternoon ride at Taroko Modderfontein on Friday to get the weekend started 3. And then a really fun Dad and Lad Sunday sesh with the lighty at Huddle Park. The technical section is a lot of fun, we spent some time there having a blast. Bonus points - I graduated (with no embarrassing falls…yet) from flat pedals to clipless on Sunday 😊
  11. Let us know how it goes 🤞
  12. A Leatt day in JHB would be amazing…just saying 😝

  17. Hi, any hubbers been to these events before? The Facebook event looks very quiet.
  18. Back at Taroko, first time I crossed the 40km mark so I am quite chuffed.
  19. Where is this, looks awesome.
  20. Had a great morning avoiding the Angry Bird at Taroko trails in Modderfontein
  21. Thank you all for the great advice, gonna keep as is for now and look to replace the full wheel when I need to. Thanks again!
  22. So upon further investigation I see I have Stans Flow D rims. The previous owner must’ve switched the out. How are these?
  23. Hi Hubbers! I recently (a few months now) fell in love with mountain biking and since I got my Norco Fluid FS3 on the hub in May, I have been taking it to the trails every weekend. I want to start upgrading where I can, slowly but surely and have been interested in upgrading the rear hub. I have found the below in the classifieds, it seems like it should be a direct fit (boost hub with 32 holes). Is this a decent hub, and what would your recommendations be? My bike is a large, and I guess I’m average build ( 6 foot and 82kgs). I’ve done some scouting of YouTube to try and see how to replace the rear hub and wanted to find out from you experts how hard this actually is, and then how much would my LBS actually charge to get it done? The deal with the spokes seems a little technical. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/mountain-bike-hubs/652707/corse-mtb-boost thank you!
  24. Hi everybody. I’m Mark, and the mountain biking bug bit me earlier this year. Took the plunge and got myself a nice Norco Fluid dual suspension and I’ve been hitting the trails at Taroko Farm in Modderfontein recently. Really enjoying it and hope to enter some events in the future and meet some of you!
  25. Good luck to all the riders, looking forward to hearing some awesome stories and seeing some great pics. Suffering serious FOMO!
