  14. Hey 2Nutz, I'm Melvin...skating days were cool, still skate every now and again Bring your board to the next CM and I'll tow you!
  15. No, it hasn't. There were about 1200 people riding. For over 1 year CM has been running monthly with nothing like this having happened. Most people had a great night, and CM will continue to make it's point in spite of this
  16. Anyone with info on or pics/footage of the person/s responsible pls inbox me.
  17. Facebook event page for Friday's ride http://www.facebook.com/events/221648584633935/
  18. Anyone who arrives at the Sanlam Investments FoodWineDesign Fair on a bicycle this year gets in at half price, but on Friday night a ride has been organised, starting at cnr Jan Smuts & Bompas at 6-15pm and ending at the Fair at about 7-30pm, where the first 100 riders get in free and get a free beer. Should be fun.
  19. Great article on Critical Mass Jozi http://www.jhblive.com/kultcha/features/critical_mass_-_the_ups_and_downs_of_the_jozi_city_cycling_experience/122852 Even after getting messed up like that he still wants to come back
  20. Facebook event for November 2012 http://www.facebook.com/#!/events/525896194104772/
  21. Possible if the last Friday of the month is somehow a public holiday. Otherwise, people won't come because of work. It's iportant for our CM to be part of the global movement, so I don't think it should be shifted from the last Friday of the month. We are talking about a morning ride the weekend after 94.7. What about the Saturday morning, start at Commuter Clubhouse, end up at the Neighbourgoods Market? Or Sunday morning, but Sat is better because of the market.
  22. Planning a meeting with the MEC for transport to find out his thoughts on the ride. So bleak that I missed it. But he seems to have enjoyed it and he is open to hearing from cyclists, so he will be a good ally in getting what we need in Jozi. Slowly, CM is working and making an impact. Doesn't hurt that it's fun too
  23. Join the fb group here and you will know about all Jozi Hustle events http://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/groups/413711328689958/ Usually the first Thursday of the month
  24. It's pretty much Halloween every month anyway. I don't think we should require people to dress up, because the point of the ride is numbers of people, and some may feel like if they can't get an outfit, they can't take part. But if people want to dress up, they should knock themselves out.
