  1. For sure, just get in a good bunch early on and you can do it!! I did a 115km road race in 3:02 witb conti race kings on, so alost did the sub 3 thing witk nobbie wheels..so think with slicks you'll be fine!! Don't know about the fastest time though. Good luck.. The argus is not tough at all, no real climbs etc so you are going to pedal harder to stay with the roadies on a "flat" race!!
  2. i just posted my RM XO for sale-dont stress...it really is mine-haha!!!good luck with it...hope you find it somehow
  3. Doesn't "sealy posturepedic" make chamois for my shorts perhaps??
  4. As you can see from my info provided--- I learnt alot from you
  5. It all depends on what your looking to do, 50-70km, 100km+, multi-stage etc?? im buying a 29er now, hardtail, because 29er dually is expensive if you are buying a decent bike!! If you buy a bike now, i would definitely suggest 29er, hard or soft, i think the last year or 2 has proven the 29er, i was skeptical at first, until i saw my dad(29er) dropping his times really easy and all the guys on 29ers saying its the best thing since sliced bread...but look around on the hub, there are lots of topics on the 26 vs 29 thing, I have a nice post about it a while back, the guys helped my out really well, replied to all my questions and so on, go check it out on my profile, it will be there somewhere...good luck with the bike hey... there are too many options..haha, really tough deciding on a bike!! cheers (oh ja-its my 100th post on the hub )
  6. HI, i have not brought something in myself, but a friend of mine ordered a scott spark ltd last year, asked the company to separate the frame/wheels/groupset to avoid some taxes etc(he did enough research and added up all the extras) In the end they sent the whole bike, fully assembled and he got DESTROYED on import duties...just make sure(sounds like you know what ur doing so you'll be fine ) good luck man
  7. And i read somewhere the SID has a weight limit as well, so im looking at the reba RL/RLT yes...now to find the dealer!!haha, thanks man
  8. haha hoped no-one picked up on that!! yes-its a HT for the epic....will get a good saddle
  9. Will do...its my "2012 Epic bike" so there will be plenty of pics-haha!! thanks for the input appreciate it..
  10. Thats the ONLY thing keeping me from buying a new bike. There are one or 2 things i dont like, like you said... the weight limit is good motivation to stay fit through university and so on-haha!! There are so many RS to choose from, one of them has to be the right one, just need to do enough research...
  11. Yes, the limit is 190lbs..thanks for the input man!! my only concern still is the carbon frames that they are selling on theHUb, dont know of anyone who can give a review on them...
  12. The 2 places i was referring to are on the hub- summitbikes and cyclebuzz
  13. At the moment i will use my LBS to build the shop, but buying the parts still depends on the deals i can get everywhere, hopefully the fellow hubbers could help out-haha
  14. So would you guys say the crest depends on the rider weight mostly?? if so, i weigh 75kg, and ride pretty hard i think..any other brands of wheels?? and then the next thing is frame and fork- there are 2 places selling carbon 29er frames for under R6000, 2 year warranty etc, 1250g for medium frame... anyone know of people who has bought one of these frames?? Fox vs Rock shox...feedback on them??thanks
  15. The way i hydrate before a race..it would be easy to shed 250g with a pee . thanks for the reply, do you know anything about ztr crest wheels?? i only know ZTR so my own experience stops there... i do like "racing" all the time-not for the win but to beat my times and positions from time-2-time...if that helps with the wheel decision ?
  16. Any idea on what the price would be for 29er rims and dt swiss hubs??
  17. all good man-would also like his number!! thanks
  18. It depends on where you buy them , i have a friend who owns a shop, they stock ZTR so getting a good price on them, just think Im too heavy since the max rider weight recommended is 170lbs!!
  19. Hi guys, Im looking for a new 29er hardtail, Budget around R30000. there are 2 options at this stage: #1: building one Carbon frame_handlebar+stem+seatpost for around R7000 (the ones on the hub-can anyone give some personal feedback on them?? ZTR Race Gold wheels Full XO groupset Rock shox reba xx shock =R30000 more or less And the other option is to buy a cube elite with the specs http://www.cube.eu/en/29er/ R33000 and then there is another 3rd option-not my favourite but R27000 the scott scale pro 29er Any feedback would be awesome...and any feedback on those frames on the hub as well, thanks guys
  20. Nope, as far as i know, thats for your bike and your parnter, no parts included....
  21. Thanks for the reply, gave me a whole new idea hey...if you get a major problem at EVERY stage, you can probably get one of the mechanics to help then for R300 or so?? but then again, what if they are full..haha
  22. any idea on the prices? or what you paid if you dont mind telling?? thanks
