  1. Grease Port for the pivot is under the BB: Kiwi2010-01-17 05:49:54
  2. Hi Mtbvillage, The swing arm lower pivots around the BB to prevent chain growth as the suspension moves: The rear dropouts are vertical with sliders which also contain the disc mount (replaceable) so it moves with the wheel -nice!

  5. Running for sure, there was some articles on Bike Radar or some where like that where they mentioned that cyclists who road a lot often had lower bone density due to a lack of impact loading and they rcommended a little running for that reason alone, let alone the cross training benefits.
  6. Hi Guys, <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Here's a bit of an update on the 29er full suspension frames; More details coming soon! About Lenz Sport: Devin Lenz has been making suspension bikes in <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Fort Lupton, Colorado since 1996. Really making them. In house. With his own tooling, dies, CNC and welding equipment. Tubing and aluminum bar stock come in one end, frames come out the other. Only heat treating, anodizing and powder coating are done off site. The result is what you would expect from this level of commitment, a finely crafted American-made bicycle frame, something that's hard to find these days. Lenz Sport was one of the first companies to offer full suspension to the 29-inch market, and worked with endurance racer Mike Curiak to come up with the initial geometry. Lenz now offers 29ers with three, four, five, six and even seven inches of travel. Although the bikes are built on the plains north of Denver, they are tested high on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. RST Forks

Not hard, you just need to trim the new fork's steerer to the correct length and put the headset bottom race from your old fork onto the new fork.

Sounds like the F1rst with 100mm travel will be just right. You should be able to drop 400 plus grams from the Dart to the F1rst as well! The advantages of an air spring are light weight, ease of adjustability, and improved bottom-out resistance while maintaining mid-stroke performance. Kiwi2009-12-18 08:52:40

    RST Forks

Hi Mawbs, The F1rst Air RL is an XC fork in either 80 or 100mm travel. The Titan is a heavier duty AM fork with 130mm travel, Is the Dart 120mm,100mm or 80mm travel? The forks have a 1 year warrantee and come with a setup manual. We have a service agent organised and have direct access to RST's tech department for any curly questions. Kiwi2009-12-18 08:37:25

    RST Forks

Hi Mawbs, Search on mtbr.com, the forums have info there.
  13. Get a 29er! you get the equivalent of an inch of rear travel, all that hard tail snapp and get to roll over rather than up and over roots, rocks etc. R14,334 to R23,000
  14. Pompino built up:
  15. We received a couple of these frames in Large (54cm) last night: Kiwi2009-12-08 05:09:12
  16. Interesting feed back Crow. We started importing RST late last year and we haven't had any problems with the forks, could be earlier models? I know Dragon was the importer previously. Worst I've seen was seal that needed a bit of lube on it.
  17. Bos, this is what's keeping me awake all night: The PBJ, 7" travel DH bike. As you can see people have been using the early prototypes as AM/FR bikes . Going into production now apparently:
  18. Hi Bos, I wish that was me! Looks like a slice of heaven.
  19. Even though you need more energy to get a 29er wheel up to speed - it's not much more when you are out on the trail, because of it's size a 29er wheel is going to over rather than into everything from roots to large stones. The 26er wheel is going to lose energy every time it has to go up and over an obstacal that a 29er wheel is going to go over. So the loss of speed is less on a 29er wheel on a bumpy bit of track than on with a 26er wheel. When you look at 29er race wheels compared to 26er race wheels you can now get a reasonbly priced 29er race wheel at 1650 grams a set and a no holds bared set down to 1380. Same sort of weights as for 26ers. Tyres for 29ers 650 grams down to 500 odd grams. Next year there will be 29er race tyres in the mid 400's for 29ers. Kiwi2009-12-04 09:22:29
