  1. thats a brilliant story, WOW, well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that really is impressive..... hi5!!
  2. noooo, we do the large lap again as two years ago, which encorporates both vissershoks, right from down by the n7, and we go down till the end of adderly street... 3 laps.... and the last 40km is first a side wind and then a head wind (which is if the south easter blows, which is very probable)
  3. well im glad everyone said no and had such a good view and understanding of it..... difference in opinions is one of the most vital intruments for interesting conversation...
  4. Barloworld apparantly only has 2 south africans in their team for giro... the rest are their BEASTLY euro pros... so i have heard... thats gonna be wow.... then, the vissershok stage has actually been measured by riders to be around 195km.... and yes please, two of your big names in your 1st thread are on my team.. hahahaha awesome but yea, i agree, the giro this year is goling to be insane... waaaaay harder than last year and probably any other year for that matter...
  5. Hmmmmm.... I like that cat idea Le Tour, just for pedal power events where the problem is.... It's actually a brilliant idea.... hi5!!!!!!
  6. Never too many events..
  7. Totally agreed, and its odd, because Craig is actually a fantastic comm most of the time...
  8. Windbreaker, i don't know what you trying to say, but you whern't in the bunch, yet you are trying to judge a situation you didn't see??? Maybe you should keep you judging of the riders in the elite group to yourself untill you know the full story??? I agree with the race being cancelled, as the bunch was over the white line for a long time, I actually even said to a fellow rider that its going to be cancelled.... But i personally didn't even hear the com give the riders a warning, maybe he did, but his job is to tell EVERYONE... I had to hear from my manager the race had been cancelled... Thanx must go to Chris willemse who took over as lead vehchile after the incident, the cars where aware and very obliging... So its also not IMPOSSIBLE for someone just to drive up front and warn motorists about the riders for that very short section...
  9. THANK YOU MP321!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are quick to charge riders an arm and a leg to enter the racing league, but are far from fast to provide us with the racing conditions required, that as seen at The Tour de Boland, can be done with the right people as organisers......
  10. I sat near the front, and if you didnt notice, we wheren't riding in the yellow lane, if you where at the back, then im sure you where in the yellow.... Did any car nearly hit some one? NO!!! there was a vehchile ahead of the bunch warning the motorists, and there was just ONE instance of a blind rise on that rode that I can recall, and there where more people on the left there..... Basically, if you are riding over the line, then thats your choice, because YOU are following the slipstream... Maybe next time just make your own echelon.... The closest the bunch came into contact with any car what so ever was when the comm nearly took the out!!!!
  11. To the people who wheren't in the race today, Don't try say it was a dangerous situation with traffic swearving off the road, we where there, and it WAS NOT.....you are talking bullsh*t.... I've had enough of people who know absoloutly nothing aboout a situation coming and giving their oh so wise opinions.... What the com did today was stupid and ridiculous, and he is lucky no serious harm was done to any of the elite riders due to his actions.... If you worried about the riders health, WHY THE F*#K do you slam on brakes 10metres ahead of the bunch when they sitting at 50km/h..... At stages along that road(only a 10km section where this happened), we could see up to 4km of clear road ahead of us...... Maybe the com needs to take better control of a situaton in a case like that when its a PPA "funride race", like prehaps just neutralising the race for that short period where the wind is at a precuriou angle and then continue racing just down the road, where we had turned, and the wind was from the front............
  12. Just wanna add.. The break stayed away for 120km today.... Those guys rode really strong... Dean Hopf won the 3 hot spots on the road, and is wearing the pickfords points jersey. David garret and Gilbert stayed away all the way to 5km from the top of the climb, after going in the break after the 1km mark... wow
  13. Iv ridden ALOT of different saddles, and the BEST by faaaaaaaar is my Specialized saddle, i spend alota hours a week on it and never get sore.... Good luck with whatever you decide mate..
  14. Hey all My friend is currently looking for a new road frame. He needs a 56cm and is a avid racer, so is looking for something light and stiff He's asked me to put out an article on the hub to see what good qaulity 2nd hand frames there are out there for between R5000 and R6000 so he can compare that with some of his options of new frames. So if you have any options, just leave it on this thread and ill pass it onm to him.......... thanx alot
  15. i also do 20hr weeks+, and on my recovery weeks i will do rest monday, then 1.5-2hr rides tuesday wednesday thursday(stop for coffee if you feel like it), an hour friday, then the race on the saturday, and a 2hr coffee shop ride on the sunday. Thats what i do, im not saying its correct, but just giving you more info
  16. first of all, i find it disgusting that when some one organises a race for people and goes to all the trouble to get it right, the first few peplies in return are questioning the event and critisizing him for what he has come up with... to all you moaners out there, get off your asses if you have a problem and YOU organise events so that they will suit you, or KEEP QUIET and thank him for actually providing him with some much needed road acing in the cape..... THANK YOU groot lem , it seems i am the 1st person here to have some manners. I appreciate you organising some racing, and i will certianly come support your event. AND then, secondly, if you gonna go do the mtb race, go, dont have a little fit you camt do both. Thers been plenty of mtb races of late, and if you choose to do yet another over the first road race in weeks, then so be it, thats where you passion obviosly lies, but im sure the true roadies will certianly sieze this fantastic opportunity, and will all be there... Thanx again groot lem see you saturday
