I'm not sure what level you looking at, but a road bike certainly opens you up to more riding. My TT bike is a terror to ride anywhere but out in the open roads, which is of course is the ideal but not always possible. I would suggest start on a road bike with some clip on bars and get a full TT bike when you chasing the win.

A big thank you to the Race referees and police on the day. It was a very well handled race in the 110km Licensed bunch. All in all an awesome event.

First time tackling this... Looked at the previous years times and it seems really fast? I see the first few pros go sub 3 for 80km? Any tips? Need to knows? Advise? Is it quite technical? Thanks!

The Knysna Big 5 Challenge is coming up at the end of the month... For those that don't know, it is part of the Knysna Oyster Festival and comprises of: Saturday - 80km MTB Sunday - 100km Road Race or 22km Paddle Tuesday - 14.4km Trail Run Thursday - Xterra Saturday - Knysna Half Marathon or Full Marathon See some big names lining up this year to compete for the title! Stuart Marais, Dan Hugo, Bradley Weiss, Kent Horner and loads more! Who's joining the fun then...?

Organizers did an amazing job at ensuring there is still a Jailbreak to race! I will be there!

The entry fee is amazing - R80 for an awesome route, amazing venue and a bottle of wine is a winning deal anywhere (I did do the per-entry option)

What an event. AWESOME Route, awesome organization, thoroughly enjoyed! Will be back for sure! If you have not done this one, you are missing out!
