  3. Thanks for all the responses, I'm sure quite a few of us are going to get some good info from here. Will try keep it updated and make a list of shoes or brands that guys have mentined for us wide f(l)at feet guys. Im out for the day will have a good look later again. Definitly going to pop into Spez again and have a look again Shoes are EXPENSIVE, would save a lot if we got them right the first time
  4. And they look awesome, thanks will definitly start there and go see where I can find a pair. Thanks :-)
  5. I searched the forum for a few key words, with no luck. I have been on the bike for over 10 years now, so by no means a total rookie. I have been through a few MTB shoes, the best being a older Specialized shoe, which served me 1000s of km. I recently bought the M240s, too small however 0.5 size differrence. But even the bigger size I dont think will help, they just seem narrow! I have a WIDE, FLAT size 9 foot. Anyone else have a wide flat foot, and what shoes did you find are the most comfortable? who makes shoes for wide and flat? What would you suggest? I can go try on 50 pairs of shoes, but unfortunately I cant go for a ride with them. The M240s where fine until I got 5km into a ride. How can I avoid this. Any help would be appreciated. Perhaps we can start a thread with what shoes work best, based on experience for different foot types. The goal is to at least have a starting point.
  6. Happy to join on the Short rides and fun rides. I need any reason to get back on my bike. If you could kindly pop me a message with times dates, i'll do whatever I can to make it. Brent
  7. Ive also been riding alone for quite a while. Will be following and get back into into it, the Ibis is collecting some serious dust The Pretoria riding group (friends) I've had over the past 8 years, all got married....... need I say more.
  8. Anything worth doing properly is 'expensive'. Have you seen the price of top end flyfishing gear? Orvis anyone? Golf? Clubs? Club Membership? golf cart? Balls?(which I'm always losing) then R250-R1000 per round of 18? then halfway house, then drinks, then losing all the bets. Any recording studio people around? You want to see expensive? Watches? *WARNING* http://www.jomashop.com/patek-phillepe-grand-complications.html I have guitars...a few guitars.... One being USD$12000 I cringe to pay R500 for a pair of jeans or R70 for one pair of underpants As long as you get enjoyment out of it, and you having fun its actually priceless.
  9. Definitely a scam, a quick google image search 'Scalpel 29er carbon 1 enve' and a picture from an Ebay ad comes up. Identical. Bastid
  10. I had my specialized done by them. Taking my 'new' mtb back to them because they do make a world of difference with the fine tuning. Highly recommended by me too.
  11. Ive always shipped tracking, did not have an option on check out. I assumed for $30 shipping it would have a some sort of number. The reason for the thread was to inform others if they order, to be aware, pick the track option. Or ask for it before you place the order.
  12. I have imported tons over the years, music stuff, guitar stuff, bike stuff, this is the first time from Oz tho, and this happens. bleak
  13. In February I ordered a framskin for my Ibis, and a chain guide. With shipping I think I paid about R1300. It has never arrived, last check was Friday at local Post Offices I asked the guy at Frameskin to please send me ANY sort of number or anything to try and trace it. He just replied, saying no number and not trackable.. Sorry, cant help. Fair enough. I still thought it would have SOME sort of number to try trace locally at least when it did arrive. I have since been to all the post offices in Pretoria East, namely; Garstfontein, Faeire Glen, and Woodhill (If there is another please let me know) with no luck. After I told the guy listen these things have not arrived, it's been 4 months, surely there is an insurance and we can resend perhaps? Sure he says, and I get this link copied into the email, and told that tracked shipping to SA will be $50 AUD !!!! crazy http://frameskin.com.au/cms.php?id_cms=1 anyway I get a '60%' discount to resend, and $50 AUD to ship. So its not tooooo bad but another R900 odd rand to pay, wtf, total cost being over R2k in the end; a bit steep :-( I may just try ask for that refund option in a month or two again if nothing shows up. So a warning to any hubbers that order from Frameskin.com.au use the trackable option (If anyone knows where I can go have a 3M skin of sort or wrap put on my bike for a decent price in Pretoria, please let me know.. Cheers
  14. May I possibly join you guys too? Was doing regular 90km - 120km rides but it's not so fun doing them solo at the moment, my riding partners are..... Married :/ so consistency is nowhere.
  15. I'd also love to join on some mid-week night rides...
