  1. That looks really cool ???? I like it
  2. I was just about to make an edit to ask about flat pedals ????
  3. Thanks, Eugene ???? well I don't really have MTB friends as I don't really do proper mountain biking at bike parks etc, mostly just commuting, but road cycling seems like it could make for a more social ride
  4. ???????????????? Do you have a boulder pad rack for that steed!?
  5. I'm new to road bikes, but am really enjoying the more refined, light weight, smoother side of cycling, as opposed to riding a rigid 26er on South African pavements, which is more like singletrack. I have a few questions for the roadies out there. 1. Where can I find a group of casual cyclists to ride with? 2. Are there rigid rules about dress code? Do I have to go and buy lycra and all that? 3. I have heard that the world of road cycling can be a little pretentious/elitist (Not trying to insult anyone, this is just what I've heard). For those of you who know, how true is this? are people just ignorant and get the wrong idea from the road cycling community? If you have any suggestions or advice I would love to hear what the various hubbers out there think of all this. (go easy on me, I'm a noob)
  6. I suppose this is why they did away with rigid forks in the early development of mountain bikes ???? I agree that riding rigid on gnar is a death wish, but its also badass! much respect to the pioneers of the sport
  7. A powder coat would be ideal I reckon ???? certainly more durable than paint, but alas, I'm on a student's budget
  8. That sounds like its going to be one cool bike ???? what bike is it?
  9. I've been told by some people and a quick google search that 54-58cm would fit, depending on the brand, but yeah I don't have any pain or tiredness in my neck/back/arms or anything like that when I ride this one
  10. Alright, this is a 56cm, and it does feel a bit stretched, but it doesn't really worry me. I'm totally new to road bikes and I tried out a 51cm Raleigh, which just felt way too small.
  11. The dude didn't even take off the cranks or BB. Sommer sprayed the cranks green too, which obviously (due to a lack of aluminium etching primer) just chipped off and looked horrible, hence the polished cranks
  12. That was exactly my thinking. If the frame hadn't been lazily painted with cheap hardware store spray paint I wouldn't have done any paint work on it at all. The frame was also pretty oxidized in some areas like under the chain stays, which was just painted over by the green.
  13. Thanks for the feedback ???? What size frame should I be riding? I'm 178cm tall
