  1. Still a while... end of October
  2. Did it for the first time this year and finished in 25hrs, was strong all the way and did not follow a traning plan. Just did 8hrs a week for 3 months mostly on the road bike. Longest ride was a road ride of 6hrs. You have to be fit but also mentally strong to get through some really tough patches eg: tiredness, butt pain, back pain, knee pain, why am I doing this? At the end of the day have fun enjoy the adventure and make friends. Riding with people who I met along the ride helped a lot

  4. Sitting outside here in oudsthoorn and it's pretty cold and only 7pm. Don't have leg warmers, think I will survive without them?
  5. Bought a Red-e 6000 mah power bank for my garmin 510 and light, works perfectly. Dont need a special cable as it charges the garmin while recording without switching off.

  9. In the same boat, doing 7-8hrs a week. Longest ride was 150km at 6hrs on the road bike. Need to maybe do 1000 push ups or something!
  10. Been tough to fit the hours in - work, kids & summer heat. Averaging 6 hours a week for the last three months, gonna increase to 8hrs till end of March. Hope that is okay. First time doing a mtb race over 105ks so should be interesting!
  11. Hi Cejay see you are based in KZN, what routes are you riding for training? Do you have any suggestions on what lights to use and essentials to pack. New to this night riding thing...
