  1. yeah essentially thats how it works. u get all the detail combined. so those blown areas that at normal exposure are under or over exposed are now correctly exposed, or closer to that. check out a program called photomatix. I don't have any hdr I have done but Google has plenty. as far as I know all of the latest cameras give an option to take multiple exposures. problem is people tend to hdr it too much. so u get ridiculous highlights and it looks unrealistic. the trick is to make it subtle so it brings in all the detail at the different exposures without people instantly thinking its hdr.
  2. would have been good as an hdr shot
  3. It's pretty close to film ISO... the sensor in a DSLR is optimized to give you the best image quality at the lowest ISO (50-100 in most cases). As you bump up the ISO, you push the sensitivity of the sensor up and introduce digital noise in the image

    Bike Size

im 1.8 on a medium, no issues but i do feel a little cramped sometimes. but i worry more about aiming my bike downhill and hoping for the best, not 2/3 hours in the saddle/ take the above advice, ergofit etc. best thing to do. you may get away with some smaller changes than a frame change
  9. piece of mind comes with a better helmet. with china being a huge manufacturer in any instance you dont know what quality you are getting. paying that bit extra for a decent brand (should) buy some piece of mind (yes there are exceptions) and yes i know all the helmets clint has mentioned are good. merely saying dont get a mr P special and expect the same as the low end bells etc
  10. shoulda just been posted on one of the many 27.5" threads that are around alreayd
  11. he got given a jacket
  12. Whats matts address. Im sure we can get some angry people together. one 2 knob kerries and a Packard scribbled in broken english.
  13. I(and it seems many others) still feel some more information is needed. Admin first expressed that he contravened the rules of the forum. which rule was contravened ? How can it be out of the norm if it contravened a written rule. If everyone is open then people will stop questioning a decision. Unfortunately a Forum becomes a community and no longer a website. No one needs the specifics but just some more clarity. alright i've had my say. back to the usual hub interactions!
  14. no problem. the poll was closed when i wanted to comment as was the previous topic on the matter. something that really grates my carrot
  15. no he is suspended for an undetermined period as it is still under review
  16. Warnings and Suspension We follow 3 strike policy with regards to infringement of any of the above rules: 1st offence: Warning 2nd offence: 2 day suspension 3rd offence (following suspension): Permanent ban All warnings / suspensions will have a 30 day life time. This means that if the 2nd offence occurs within 30 days of receiving the 1st warning a 2 day suspension will apply. A repeat offence in the 30 days following the 2 day suspension will result in a permanent ban. so assuming you followed protocol he should have been warned first and then a 2 day suspension if he contravened further? Also just a note since i have now read the rules on the site. I have seen plenty 'spam' posts, one most recent yesterday in Rant 'n Rave which i happened to comment on. It says these will be removed. Clearly that hasn't happened. "We will remove any posts that are obviously commercial or otherwise spam-like.Our aim is that this site should provide a space for people to interact with our content and each other, and we actively discourage commercial entities passing themselves off as individuals, in order to post advertising material or links.". Not trying to cause any hassles. Mere curiosity really, there will always been issues on a public forum when things aren't transparent. Dangle is a prominent member of 'OUR' forum. Have a super day admin people. Hopefully the Mod involved didn't transgress the rules aswell seeing as tho it seems to have happened 'behind closed doors' maybe he/she should also have faced suspension anyway just my 2 cents, trust it wont make any difference in any case, just wanted to voice my concerns and for the record i dont know Dangle, have only seen him post and primarily in the Photography side as we are both active posters there and have seen him give many people solid advice with regard to questions
  17. granted there are more aspects to it. but a helmet is there for safety no for ventilation, if that was the case we wouldnt wear helmets at all

  19. if someone kicked my car id sure as hell stop. that dude sounded like a coward. but anyway good on you for getting details. pity the cyclist just up and carried on
  20. we had a good ride there once. and its cheap as chips. but if you havent been there and arent going with someone that can show you around it can be a little frustrating trying to find some suited riding for you. thankfully after our first exploration we bumped into someone that took us on a super fun trail. altho i would rather recommend giba there is plenty to choose from, my preference being the blue/gravity route. the orange route is very fun and ridable even for newbies. the green is in my understanding the beginners route but i didnt like it very much, i found it was harder 'fitness' wise than the orange route.
  21. so are you raving about yourself?
  22. faaar from it. i need a new car tho and thanks to nige i need a new bike too :/
  23. incentives are big even for top 10 woman, i knew a woman that finished top 10 for many years and all the incentives is where the money comes from
  24. Yeah Omega was thinking just that. Thing is i think we are more likely to do a swiss trip in snowy season before that. She skis i snowboard and we have free accommodation up there so we shall see what happens
