  1. The only guys I know about in CT are benbikes.org.za
  2. Just a note on something that I've tried and works. I bought a NOS frame on the cheap and built her up with parts I had lying about. The interesting part is that I'm using 9-speed Tiagra shifters with a 10-speed 105 crank and RD on a 9-speed cassette with a 10-speed chain. Works like a charm.
  3. http://www.moderncyclist.co.za/stories/building-bikes-for-the-community Some publicity for my cause.
  4. Want to know how we go about getting a bike built for donation? Read here: http://www.buildabikesa.com/bike-build-up-series-introduction/
  5. If anyone wants to ride the 2015 947 Cycle Challenge for our charity bond, please let me know.
  6. Hi Surprize, Thanks for the kind offer. I'll PM you.
  7. Awesome idea! I'll have a look as well. I get many parts donated to Build-a-Bike that I don't end up using. Cycling shoes, stems, clipless pedals etc. I'll try and make time this weekend to make a list. If anyone has MTB frames, forks and cranks, please let me know as I have a list of guys waiting for bikes. Thanks.
  8. Thanks a million guys, much appreciated!
  9. I've tried to make a CC payment and it works for me. If you're trying to use a non-listed amount, select any amount but type in your chosen amount. The card will be charged your chosen amount. I hope this helps!
  10. We desperately need to move the initiative from our private residence (townhouse with no garage) to a more suitable site. The guys from the PWC Cycle Park have offered to let us locate a shipping container on their property and convert this into a workshop and storage space. Now that we have a location, we need a container and funds to buy one and have it converted. Our appeal is for cash donations to help us further this goal. Please visit the backabuddy website and if you can, make a donation, no matter how big or small, it'll make a huge difference in the lives of the guys who get bikes from us. https://www.backabuddy.co.za/donate/charity/buildabikesa Thanks in advance!
  11. David with his new Nishiki single speed commuter machine.
  12. John from Alexandra with his new-to-him bike. It'll save him 3 hours a day in travel time. Now that's a life changed!
  13. 56th bike given away. Mostly thanks to the generosity of fellow hubbers.
  14. Chain guides are NOT pornworthy

  16. OK so I have decided that I probably won't sell the Inbred, but I might sell the frame so that I can add to my growing Cotic family. Anyone want a large, white On-One Inbred SS 29er frame? Make me an offer.
  17. Selling her to fund other priorities, check her out in the classifieds. ***sniff*** ***sob***
  18. What fork? What fork? What wheels?!?!
  19. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7MP2WY5 Please help us by filling in our short survey.
  20. After spending 2 weeks on my 1x10, I finally sorted out my SS's noisy drivetrain and headset last night. WOW the SS is smooth, quiet and with no sloppy drivetrain or suspension, gets the power down so much better. 33x17 for a 21km, 370m ascent commute to work.
  21. Yes guys, that 27+ with fat-Lite tyres on a 650B rim in a 29er frame is gonna be awesome! Now where do I find budget to get similar new wheels for my Solaris?
  22. On forks: Don't hesitate to try steel. I have a Surly Karate Monkey fork on my On One and it's really nice. It's stiff and responsive, but also "springy" which I appreciate when pre-loading for a curb-hop or bunny-hop. It's also less than 1kg and you can run a mahoosive tyre. http://www.greggscycles.com/images/library/Zoom/surly_fk0024_12_z.jpg
  23. I have the same bar and seatpost on my Cotic. Top notch stuff at a great price point.
  24. haha, not 4 day weekends, but no riding friday through monday. If anyone finds those 4-day weekends, let me know!
