  1. I have a box of at least 8 pairs of cycling shoes that were donated to my initiative Build-a-Bike. Can you collect from Midrand?
  2. Thanks MuddyMike. I'll PM you!
  3. built this up the other night and did the Protea Race on it today. 52-20 gear. Ave spd 35. Should have gone 18 at the back. Smooth as silk. Accelerates like a rocket.
  4. Rigid fork for the SS. And a new frame to take the sus fork. [emoji106][emoji106]
  5. Update time. Back to rigid.
  6. It'll get its first run on Thursday, to work and back. I'll let you have my thoughts. On my old 26er SS I had an Exotic carbon fork, so that'll be my point of reference.
  7. Finally back on a rigid.
  8. I've never seen an ally Hansom, so I'd suspect it's something else with Hansom decals.
  9. Hey all. I got such a heart-wrenching email just now - copied and pasted below. Please let me know if anyone can assist with a small road bike. Thanks! The story about Moses: (sent in by Melody Eggar) I thought I would tell you a brief story of Moses Shange “Pretorius” a little boy who’m my sister bought into our family around 11 years ago. Abrie met Moses (Now 21!) as a patient at JHB General hospital whilst he was a patient of hers. Moses suffered from severe Renal failure., and due to his poor family background hardly had any visitors from family. It took Abrie 3 months to win over Moses’s trust to just greet her – never mind have a conversation with her. Well, 10 years later, after numerous death scares, infections and lots of trials and tribulations with dialysis Moses finally received a kidney transplant (donated by his brother!)two years ago! Now Abrie is not one who allows anyone to pitty themselves! She always guides him to health, makes him exercise and teaches him to be grateful daily! I am proud to say that Moses participated in his first South African Transplant games this past weekend, and we are so proud of him! He participated in the 20km cycle race, the 100m sprint and also the 1500 m race. Out of all these events Moses has decided that he would love to train and participate / compete in cycle challenges / races and he would love to help raise awareness for organ donation. For him to do this though he needs a proper road bike – and that is why I am writing to you. Any assistance in helping Moses reach this dream will be greatly appreciated!
  10. I saw you on your Cotic yesterday shooting along main past Leeuwkop. I might see you today as I'm also on the bike. Midrand to Paulshof.
  11. This is why I do commute by bicycle - I avoid all of this traffic mess and take to the dirt, far from taxis and other idiots.
  12. PM sent
  13. I've actually just ordered a 34. No reason though. the combinations available for 32 or 34 are all good.
  14. 32x18 is the best all-round gear for a SS 29er. 32x16 for a fast flat race or a quick jaunt up the spruit, 32x19 for Magalies Monster
  15. I carry a Leatherman Wave. Either daily on my belt or in my Camelbak
  16. I'm looking for a fork like that. Where's it from and how much moola?

  18. I have over 10 000km on my Flow 29er rims and have never burped them or had to true them. I run really low pressures and have dinged my rear wheel on rocks plenty of times but have no dents to show for it. I run 2.25Nobby Nic front and 2.25 Ardent rear. Awesome combo.
  19. Ready for a new home. Thanks to Shaper for the donation of the frame!
