  1. aaw how cute
  2. Water bottles cost money that why i havent thrown one yet Main Rd Muizenburg - big trucks come past very close on purpose or not, still gives me the "grille". You take a double breath and hope he doesnt have a second trailer. But There are times when some of these big trucks wait for the oncoming traffic to subside and then they over take. Those guys give them a thumbs up and a wave and that goes along way. Those dudes who like to mess with us just wave and tell him to F ---off, no fingers. I just cant understand how any car can drive past at the speeds they do past us. When i pass a cyclist even the gardner going to work in the suburbs, i crawl past, it hopefully gives the people behind an understanding maybe an education. it is the same with horse riding in the suburbs, the road is only used when there is no pavement. Sometimes again no education and they drive past at speed and hoot, that on an animal. thats my 5c worth
  3. Not quite sure that you wrote what you meant to say. Shimano does not have an easy remove option. You need a chaintool to remove the chain which is a pain in the arse. You can do the same with Campy chains but you need to replace the pin. Best options for any chain is a quick link from Wipperman' date=' SRAM, KNC, and all chains are removeable with a simple bend and twist.[/quote'] thats what i meant the quick link, didnt know its name, but im told not on Campy. This was told to me by a very accomplished cyclist and canoeist, in the top of his game. He rescued my daughter after 10km of her argus this year, her chain broke, gave her his chain so she could carried on. he was doing his second round when she phoned him. didnt know how to make her way back to green point.
  4. White lighting and squirt my choice but after a wet ride dry ur chain and apply. I helped a lady the other day with back wheel tire change, the chain was a new one with the grease that it comes with it, and after a few rides its black, yuk and so were my hands. im thankful that i was on main rd muizenberg where i could go into a restuarant and wash actually i had to use one of those green scrubbing sponges. They wernt too charmed. look Im not hot shots like u guys above, but it works for me. I some times clean my chain in diesal. And if its one of those chains that have a special link to remove the chain like shimano then i soak the chain in white lightning. But with campy u cant do that. U have to use one of those tools to remove chain. I must say its nice to cycle behind a guy who's bike doen't squeek and its cluster and chain are shiney.

  12. BMC in salt river wonderful service cant buy things from them but a good service charged me 250 for an awful noise in the frame which i thought the frame was cracked. They worked 4 hours on the bike. Stripped it, put another BB in to check and so on. eliminated a noise 3 others could'nt. Had to ride the Argus with the most annoying tick The more local one in Main rd Diep River Magnet cycles a one man operation but he is great his name is Kurt. 21. They all fog up when you stop especially when its cold
  22. Any way that sew simple does not work on fabrics like that. Tried sticking school badge to blazer. Didnt work. Staples are another alternative. Dont wear that shirt during training
  23. Unfortunately it will never become cycling friendly here. In France cyclists command an enormous amount of respect, and some of those villages have very narrow roads and the cyclist has right of way. Car is only alowed to pass when safe to do so. My big fear is on main rd Muizenberg when those huge trucks come past you to make a point. Don't they realise if we fall under their wheels they would not even feel a cyclist. And we would be mush Or they take the corner wide but their extra long trailer almost hits you. I must admit there are some really nice truckers around who are patient and wait till we have finished negotiating pot holes. The argus shoud be fun next year for those who will be riding in the fast lane. But you are right its all a matter of education, but i think its too late and yes you are going to get those assholes who cause sh*t on the road. I spoke to some club 100 guys and asked why do they always ride 2 abreast? their answer was visibility, which also makes sense to us but not the motorist. enough must go make supper
