  1. Just did the country club with my son. Very flat windy track. Some places to catch you out where there's soft sand or a slippery root in a corner. I only saw 1 red section marker, but clearly it's never used. It was more like the guy who made it just want's ppl to wipe out than anything technically fun. One of the bridges was broken with nails sticking up. Signage wasn't great. We found ourselves doing a loop and at time guessing where to go. Mainly because different tracks cross each other. Fine if you live close by and want a bit of exercise, or if you have a beginner rider.
  2. Sheesh sounds like you did a real number on your shoulder! Even the guy at the MTB shop said yeah, common injury for us MTB'ers. In my case I attempted a drop off, with way to low tyre pressures and also landed in a rut...so I went down. My confidence is also a bit shot, I need to realise I'm not a spring chicken anymore (43) so I'm avoiding most of the ramps and stuff.(also my wife will kill me if I wiped out again)
  3. That sux that the surgery didn't work as planned. I've read its kind of a 50/50 situation. I'm glad you've healed up though.
  4. Thank you for the advice. That is my concern that it may get worse. I'll go see a physio and take it from there.
  5. I recently had a fall. X rays showed no breaks. But now I have a pretty large protusion on my shoulder. Probably an AC dislocation of some grade. It took about a month to settle down, but I'm cycling again. I notice some loss of strength in that arm, nothing major, just some weakness and stiffness after cycling. My only concern us it getting worse. Without spending $$$ on doctors is this something that can generally be left to nature to heal?
  6. You would think I could figure it out by squeezing right?! Just been so long since I was riding I kinda forgot how hard it should feel. I'm probably <90kgs, also didn't want to go from 1bar to 2bar straight away. But I'll try 2 & 1.9 on my next ride and see how it goes. The extra bumpiness seems to bother my AC injury quite a bit.
  7. You get what you pay for I guess. But it usually works. On cloudy days it sometimes loses GPS though. I have no clue why it did this today though.
  8. Oldish thread. But I bought a Lezyne thinking it looked like good quality. But it just keeps unscrewing the valve cores, even after I put threadlock on one. Waste of money.
  9. On the topic of tyre pressure. I couldn't figure out why my back was washing out and I was bottoming out on rocks. I assumed the shop would inflate my tyres properly when fixing them. So I bought a gauge and it turns out I was running 0.95bar!!! This explains a lot. Even probably why I did a face plant on a drop off and the rim later broke. Ran 1.5 and 1.6 today, much faster ride but also much bumpier.
  10. Had a similar problem with my giro helmet. The pads basically fell apart. Local bike shop had a bunch of replacements for different versions. So some bike shops do stock. Ok my new pads fell apart too, I assume they were old stock, so I glued them together..lol.
  11. Good day, Bit of an old topic but I thought I would contribute. Did the short 7.2km route a couple of times recently, nice a flat for someone out of shape. Went for a ride yesterday and they've recently done a bit of maintenance. It looks like the routes have changed. The big boys route it now 11km. Some water in the burms, a couple of areas with standing water a few inches deep but otherwise pretty enjoyable, nothing technical. 112m elevation change total, and took my 43 year old out of shape self 40min per lap. I see security vehicles riding around the perimeter quite a bit. I park my car outside the track which may or may not be sensible. The other riders I've seen seem to be more local and cycle there. Cheers
