  1. Stolen: Giant XTC 0 29er 2013 When: 8 September 2018 Where: Sandton, Gauteng Bike was taken out of a communal underground parking. Two electric gates and CCTV cameras bypassed Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section
  2. I managed to reach 100.7kg this year and have battled, mostly with diet to get down to 94kg. I did get as low as 92.5kg but seem to have settled back up. Exercise is proving tough, diet is not enough to drop me below that elusive 90kg mark. Anyone got some ideas for me?
  3. I’ve put my name down. So let’s see if they let me in, most certainly another 8 Mile though, so we should match our training
  4. They guys look properly tired at the end of it all. Must say, it’s a big task.
  5. Firstly, way to go on your Robben Island crossing, that's on my list but being landlocked up here in JHB, I'm not sure where I'm gonna get much ocean practice in. It's a big bucket list item though. Do it, it's a thoroughly enjoyable event and an awesome cause. I'm definitely going to be doing it again. I am however toying with a 16 Mile attempt next year. It's the 8 Mile except instead of catching a boat back to the start, we swim. This year 12 swimmers made took part in the 16 Mile, it's certainly something to ponder. Hope you make it to Midmar, it's really fantastic.
  6. Wife’s allocated yesterday’s but not Saturday. This Vitality lark is becoming a balls up! I’m still waiting for points for Sunday’s Midmar Mile. Saturday’s show, not Sunday. Having done the 8 Mile, I also only get points for one event per day, nothing cumulative. This doesn’t worry me too much as I usually go over the 30k points by July/August. I may just battle with the smoothie goals.
  7. Total time of 04:02:47 That is for all the support. I’ve managed to raise R11,300 so far but donations are still open. https://kydrin.co.za/goals/View/223 Even R100 will go a long way
  8. And it’s a wrap... Directionally challenged elites and choppy water made this one the most difficult.
  9. #6 - Egg ‘n Bacon Roll Time... The next two are the big ones. This is where I hang back and let the racers go up ahead!
  10. Chilly, rainy, and windy. Day 2 begins...
  11. Water was choppy for 2, 3, & 4. #1 was pretty good with them also admitting #2 was over subscribed by around 1,000 swimmers
  12. This one saw terrible conditions in the beginning with a marginal improvement before bringing up the swell again. I think I earned an ice cream!
  13. The wind is picking up and this was a mandatory swim aid swim. That’s a float that helps with buoyancy for those who need it. I tried to tell them mine is built in but they didn’t buy it.
  14. A crazy one. Usually it’s #3 that’s a bun fight. Seems sh~t just got real in the family event!
  15. Swim time sports fans... don’t forget that donations are still open [emoji6] https://kydrin.co.za/goals/View/223
  16. Over R3m raised as of 4hrs ago. That’s huge. Donations are still open, just go to https://kydrin.co.za/goals/View/223 and let’s boost this total. As I said recently, I’ll swim a mile per R100 donated, even after Midmar weekend. If you want, you can sponsor a race day mile. I’m trying get R500 for one of those https://www.facebook.com/groups/246935718721082/permalink/1626727940741846/
  17. Registration complete. Kit sorted. The best part of all is a handmade note with wishes of good luck from one of CHOC’s beneficiaries, Aphiwe. Having a name to think of does make this cause even more real. This little one will be in my thoughts every step of the way this weekend
