  1. Hello Hubbers, I'd like to do a ride from Riverside(where they start the Park Run) shops to Emmarentia and back on Sunday morning. We'll go past DHL/Pick 'n Pay. I know this is a little hot spot for crime, would three of us be safe at around 07h00?
  2. Does anyone know if the healthy gear and healthy device paybacks work with the old Discovery Credit Card. Still haven’t migrated and I need new running shoes and a bike computer.
  3. Black decals and it’s a 29er And she pretty enough...
  4. Hello All, Anyone have a spare entry to Sunday’s Old Ed’s 10km/21km Vitality Run?
  5. Slightly off topic, Anyone get any notice that their Discovery credit card is now a Discovery Bank account? They really seem to have poked the launch!
  6. Medical aid commission is limited to a ZAR amount per member on the medical scheme, not a percentage of the premium. I think it’s currently R50-R60pm
  7. Vitality/Virgin has screwed me again, getting tired of this. The do not seem capable of keeping track of my gym visits. This, even though both websites show the required visits.
  8. Certain data like personal records etc. Don’t seem to pull through at all. Not via WiFi or Bluetooth
  9. So I had my F5x+ replaced last week and have guessed that I should no longer plug it into my PC or Mac in order to run updates. The Mac has no virus software and never gave me any trouble with the Edge units I've had. My wife's unit is also trouble free (Forerunner 230) and never an issue after plugging in. Problem is, not plugging the device in means that some data will not find its way to my unit, not mission critical, but still.
  10. Well then, this seems like a case of operator error [emoji17]
  11. I was afraid this might be the case, I know that my virus software was the cause of the 910XT's issues. I use HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim, as well as various sensors on the bike and the gym's watt bikes. I've never really complained about the swap outs etc., just the inconvenience of now having to go through during the week. I'm a little (a lot really) bit technically challenged, so the error could well be mine. I did ask Garmin about this and they seem as perplexed as I am.
  12. I'm a huge fan of Garmin devices but am rapidly losing patience with them. I have owned the following: 910XT (3) fēnix 2 (2) fēnix 3 (Sapphire (3) & Titanium (2)) fēnix 5X+ Various Edge Models All the watch models have needed replacing (numbers next to each unit indicate the times they've needed replacing. The 5X+ is looking a bit rocky now too, although not yet replaced. Never had a problem with any of my Edge devices. Now up until recently (I think), Navworld has been my go to repairer and they've managed the process a fix or replacement quickly and seamlessly. This has been in no small part one of the reasons I've been a huge Garmin fan. I now find out that Garmin USA has said that Garmin SA must do all repairs itself and it can no longer outsource this. So my Saturday for the latest repair turned into a 90min visit to Garmin Rosebank today (they don't open on weekends). They wanted to take three days to get the unit back to me, either repaired or replaced. One poor guy came in from Krugersdorp and was told the same thing. They did, in their defence, offer to ship the units back to us at no cost. My question is twofold, am I the only one that has so many software failures, and am I being unreasonable in my expectation that Garmin has a further reaching backup network, at the very least opening on a Saturday? Are the alternatives any better or are we now doomed to substandard support networks across the fitness device industry?
  13. I had my bike stolen about three months ago. I got paid cash less excess. This after we had agreed on a quote for a new bike, based on the spec of the old one.
  14. So I collected my insurance replacement today. Was a bit pressed for time but took the long(er) way home and managed to get a little mud on her. The boss didn’t even see the mud in the couch...
  15. So I decided to upgrade my fénix 3 Titanium. I am now the proud owner of a fénix 5x +

  17. I had my bike stolen a few weeks back and am getting my insurer to replace. Not having been in the market for a new bike for some time, they're offering me a great looking bike with SRAM NX Eagle components. the old bike was full XT, how do the two stack up to each other?
