  1. On other sites I've used (mostly local) - it's a requirement to submit feedback - if you don't, you get a warning, then a ban (a week I think) and then another ban (a week again) and then a permo ban. People don't want their accounts banned because if their iTrader ratings are low, people dont deal with them. The point is to create a community of trusted buyers and sellers. I think 90% of us do it as soon as the item arrives etc.
  2. The other thread that I was initially directed too didn't have pictures either. I don't doubt him, but word of mouth is another thing. I know everyone has 'haters' and such, but I don't care for that politics - I prefer hearing peoples honest opinions. R4k is alot of money and I'm going to have to save long and hard for that. And besides, it will only be in everyone's benefits to have actual thoughts posted with pictures by owners.
  3. So you'd recommend him? I got 2x PM's after I started this post telling me to keep clear of him. I've seen his Instagram account and it's amazing, but what I want to see is people posting pictures of their rides that he did with reviews etc from those people He (Bogus) quoted me R4k to do what I wanted.
  4. Hi, Who can respray a road bike or 2 in Cape Town and how much are we looking at?
  5. Many companies (like my current one and previous one) have the ability to see what number you are calling from. If they can take your e-mail, add it to their mailing list, then they would probably take the phone number I called from and add it to their mailing list for SMS spam.
  6. Send me a pm and maybe we can arrange for Sunday.
  7. And that is what I plan on doing. They know exactly what they are doing and they continue to do it, and because of the attitude of many, it just gets shoved aside. If people started dealing with the 'smallest' issues when they arise, the bigger issues wouldn't exist. This issue might be small or stupid to many, but in reality, its a big bloody problem.
  8. Believe if or not, I have to actually get your permission to treat you - I can't just do whatever I want, that could be considered assault. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Consent-to-treatment/Pages/Introduction.aspx
  9. Yes, I know and I expected some 'attack' from the post but you know, it stems from the mentality of 'me knocking some guys car and walking away without leaving my information' You just don't do it. I used to work for a certain publication a few years ago and had to take so many calls from them asking WHY are they being spammed by us - we must remove their e-mail etc. It's wrong, don't do it. Simple as that or have the common decency to ASK permission first.
  10. Still... http://ispa.org.za/spam/south-african-law Maybe they should read that.
  11. Be it as it may, ASK FIRST. I don't appreciate just being added to their mailing list. They must learn to respect my privacy.
  12. Hi all, I'm not happy about something! I e-mailed Sportsworld just the other day asking about a product - they replied in good time. End of story right? No! Today, I get home to find now that I've been added to their mailing list. I didn't ask to join it, I didn't have any say in the matter, I was just put on. Now, I could click the unsubscribe option, but the matter remains, don't put people on your mailing list without asking their permission! I'm sorry, but if you can't trust a online store to stick to the basic principals of online shopping or privacy, what can you trust them with? I get enough spam in a day without them adding to the list.
  13. Hi all, I'd like to know if there are any newbie type or casual cyclists in the Somerset West (Close to Waterstone) area whom are keen to ride with 2 other newbies - well, we not newbies, but we not fit either. Myself and my SO's mom and my SO's brother are keen to start riding more often - company would be appreciated. Anyways, I'll leave this post here and you can reply or send me a PM and we'll take it from there. Our aims are simply to have enjoyable rides that get longer with time and hopefully once the fun rides start, we can start doing them.
  14. Thanks Howard for the 'part' I'll post on Tuesday night if I come right and it's all sorted.
  15. Just go and enjoy the race, don't worry about times and such, it's about you, for you, that's all that matters is that YOU walk away from the event feeling great. If you suck at your first race, remember, no one really cares - there are plenty more to come. Also, it's like anything else... You don't do too great on your own, but when you doing it with others, you just seem to do way better.
  16. Hi all, I am desperately looking for a part for my Cateye Velo Wireless + Okay, so the story starts like this; I bought this unit from a member of the "TheHubSA" and went to collect it, it worked as promised and looked in great condition - but while connecting it and such, I found that the part below was missing. http://i58.tinypic.com/63vkb7.jpg I have since just reverted to cable ties however, they come loose often while riding and it's just very irritating. Okay, so - I searched Google and made contact with the supplier of Cateye in SA - I sent a e-mail, got no reply so I called, basically, and I'm sorry the say, the man was rude, and to think maybe I was exaggerating this, I put him on loud speaker so my GF and her mom could hear, they agreed. The conversation basically went like this - I need this part, can you help? Yes and NO, Yes we can send you the part to the nearest supplier of Cateye computers, no I won't send it to you direct. I explained to him that I went to probably all of the Cycling places here in Somerset West, Cape Town and no one had the part or would assist me - I basically was told to purchase a whole new package. He said that Helderberg Cycle World should assist me - so I went to them, spoke to them, but a month later, and they basically told me no, nothing has been sent, I must just buy a new unit. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not financially able to dish out more money on this unit, especially when I know the supplier said he would supply me the part for FREE - I just need to arrange via a cycle shop. Anyways, after numerous failed e-mails to Cateye SA - I'm hoping someone here can help me please - keep in mind, I even offered to pay for courier to have it sent to me directly so Cateye SA has no financial loss. So my question comes; can anyone here (Cateye resellers) and request the part for me and possibly send me the part unless someone else has a spare part they willing to send my way, I really would appreciate any and all assistance. Suffice to say, this is the LAST TIME I'll buy a Cateye cycling computer if that's how their after sales assistance is - And this will be the 4th one I've purchased.
  17. Hahaha! You're a chop you know that! Well, I've just come back from William's Bike Shop and I'm very happy. The ride to the store (4km) was rough and the ride back (I took a longer route) was better. The uncomfortable feeling is not there anymore and I'm just feeling pain in my ass (where it's supposed to be) and I am actually happy or should I say, happier! Cost me R250 and I didn't feel like the 'bike setup' session was rushed at all, he explained as he went, made a few comments about my pedaling etc. So maybe it's over rated, but I'm already feeling better about getting on the bike instead of hesitant. Oh for those interested; he raised my seat posted by approx 45mm as well as adjusted my seat angle slightly (I also found out that I have a MTB seat), he also dropped my handle bar by approx 2mm and changed my shoes/cleats slightly.
  18. Thanks for the suggestion Da Vinci. A friend suggested I visit William's Bike Shop where is also around the corner here in Somerset West - I have an appointment for 11:00 so I'm going to see what happens there.
  19. In Somerset West. Well, maybe so, but I wanted to mention that I'm not a NEW cyclist, I just have been out of it for a couple of years (±4 to be exact) and when I first started cycling, I only had issues and it was due to my 'seat post height' and once that was corrected, the rest was a pleasure (minus getting fit etc) - I'm not exactly fit now, but I'm not weak either (due to my job) but I'm having uncomfortable feelings now, feelings I didn't have 'way back when'
  20. Nope I haven't gone for a proper proper bike setup. I'm trying to find a place here in CPT that does it.
