  1. Probably chillblain - from exposure to cold and humidity. there is creams to reduce the effects. avoid tight fitting shoes and socks.
  2. Ertjies Bezuidenhout. Steak and eggs as fuel and a lead block attached to his bottom bracket to give the other riders a chance
  3. Momsen AL729
  4. Sold mine (2010 model) for R 8000.
  5. I used surgical/latex gloves under my long fingered gloves and a plastic bag between two layers of socks on a recent ride and it worked like a bomb.
  6. Had a similar experience on the mine roads near Mooinooi (between Harties and Rustenburg) once. This was a cobra though. I was not paying attention and it was rearing its head by the time I saw it, obviously too late to swerve. I am still not sure whether the snake struck at me, but I hit some part of it with my shoe. Slammed on the brakes. Snake was missing. New shorts needed.
  7. Taxi drivers are living proof that practice does not make perfect.
  8. So true. I have also jumped some big 'gatte' after a couple of pints.
  9. Excellent reply
  10. Looking at the weather Durban has had the last couple of days I would suggest: 1. Raincoat 2. Set of oars or scuba gear.
  11. Nope. That wasn't me. But I know there where a couple of okes that got lost. Passed a few of them along the way.
  12. Must say I really enjoyed the single track on this one. Coming from Richards Bay though we do not have anything resembling a hill here and the uphills killed my legs. Also got lost once or twice and ended up doing about 90 km.
  13. Just avoid the harties majakaneng road (old pretoria - rustenburg road) those roads are so narrow you can barely fit two cars on it. Plenty of MTB to do towards buffelspoort.
