  1. Oh and one other thing... Im pretty sure I wont have to worry about being shot in the arse for my bike!
  2. Wow guys thanks so much for the feed back! Although I struggle with the cold (Come from Natal North Coast!), keen I definitely am, so by the sounds of things if I just do my home work and prepare its actually going to be really good! Stoked!
  3. Mmm so mostly Nay then? I guess at least there'll be a new bike in it for me:-)
  4. So it looks like I getting roped into going to the UK for a year after I finish my articles. Being a nube to travel Im not too sure what I can expect over there... I know the ALps are just a stones throw away but there no gaurantee Im gona make it there often enough to satisfy my needs! So I guess Im looking for other Hubber's rants and raves about what I can expect if I do go... Im sure its not going to be the same as Sunny South Africa's amazing trails but Im hoping I can find enough to get by?
  5. Hectic! Well good luck to thos guys out front! I'll be mid pack having fun and avoiding those "potential" side affects!
  6. Took a quick skim over an article about Jack3D, so IM no expert but it sounds like the kind of stuff that would get you kicked out of Tour de France!
  7. Ha! Im fairly certain there will be "special voting days" but you'll probably have to be in prison or somewhere similarly super fantastic to qualify!
  8. So I did the first 5 k's of this race last weekend... And now I own brand new UST tires! ha ha I really dont think the actual race is missing anything. Route well demarcated and the facilities are 100% I think it goes more around marketing. The first place I would look to make changes would be the "mud pit" style picture everyone sees on the cyclelab page! It creates the wrong impression of what the ride is really like. Maybe give a better idea of what the terrain is like on the route as this is a major draw point for me! And can you not get a couple of cycle shops on board? Maybe not from a sponsor point of view but rather for raising awareness, handing out some flyers etc? Personally I like the smaller fields! You dont have to fight to get a spot on the single track... Best of luck. We'll see you for round 4:-)

  10. Guys! All Im hearing are excuses. Lets see results! Nice chilled midweek ride to losen up the legs
  11. This is definitely a RAVE!!! New section is fantastic! Very user friendly and I like the option to customise searches. Happy Hubber
  12. Planning on doing a short ride up to Emmerentia and through to Delta PArk if anyone is keen. Plan to hit it at about 3:30pm. Starting from Parkhurst. Feel free to join!

  14. Wow thats a serious operation! No way in hell we would get that right here in Africa!
  15. R50 a photo does sound steep but they do use expensive equipment. I've bought photo's from action photo before. Service was good and they sent samples before I bought. I would love to know what kind of profit these guys make though. Yes R65k for a lense alone but R50 a photo for thousands of riders... And I reckon the equipment probably doesnt depreciate too quick! I think these major events should have only one company doing it all. There should be a few, that way prices will be more competitive (If they arent)! Cough up, buy the photo, you'll look a tool and it will be great!
  16. Ha hence the "no pun intended" heading. But if you could actually get into an ah... inapropriate position" while riding a bicycle you should probably share that with the world!
  17. Mine… When I was just getting into mtb (aka: noob), I was riding up on the North Coast and got myself lost in a banana plantation. Those things are like mazes! Most of the time you can’t even see the sky. And for some reason, there were these groups of guys sitting around with panga’s. Not sure if they were farmers or some sort of security! So 4 hours and 48km’s later I got home in the dark, having learned a valuable lesson!
  18. My favourite is where the guys price negotiable and then when someone offers just below the price (An actual reasonable offer)they so no my price is already too good, I cant drop anymore... Not sure if they were hoping someone was going to negotiate upwards???
  19. Not sure id antibiotics will help for a sore throat... I have the same issue with these dam aircons! Best start is to get out of that environment or at least sit near an open window. The dry air is probably causing sinus... Which in turn causes sore throat. Agree on the orochlor and some sinustat (Or whatever). Just make sure it doesn’t get to your chest cos then you getting into dangerous territory if you still going to ride!
  20. Ha ha... Think of me more as just an observer. The Hub is definitely a "buyers market" which I like because I buy more than I sell! And yes some fools really do have absurd prices! But like I said, shouldn't one then just move on, maybe make a different offer? But then you even get guys who offer a 10th of what os already a good price! Mmm Anyway just a thought
  21. So it really gets me when you see these guys who have taken upon themselves to price regulate all the other hubbers! When someone posts something for sale, the poor guy is attacked and his price beaten down just because 3 months, 2 days, 4 hours and 17 seconds ago someone else sold the same thing for 13.5% less! Or someone can import something at a better price or the best one yet... Your item should be at least 14% cheaper because you not a VAT vendor! Shows you the intelligence levels! If you not a VAT vendor you can't claim input, thus it should 14% higher if anything? If a hubber wants to sell for a higher price or even resell something he bought previously to make a profit, isn't that his prerogative? If bike shop A is more expensive then bike shop B, you dont give the former trouble... You just go to the latter. Should be the same here! Thanks, rant over!
  22. Guys what happened to frame size? 1.82m 78kg's 19 inch (Large_
  23. Okay to summaries... There is a theoretical difference but you can't feel it. If it offered the travel that would make a difference to my ride, it wouldn't be so much a difference of opinions but rather known fact. Thanks for your input guys
  24. Guys can anyone fill me on whether a carbon seat post will make any difference to ride comfort compared to an alu post? For my alu framed hardtail...
